So finally Sabbatini pulled one through, impressive it being over Furyk and Langer. Personally I couldn't watch any of the rounds, but a 62 on the third round has GOT to be impressive. Not the most well-loved pro on the course, I count as one of his fans. A final 15-footer drained dead-center to take it, and I missed it! Aaaargh!!

But wouldn't it have been funny if he was in the playoff with Ben Crane...

He played the entire final round with Bernhard Langer. Same thing, except Bernhard takes longer to get ready to hit the ball and Ben takes longer over the ball.

Aside from pulling the trigger rather quickly and perhaps sometimes playing out of turn without asking (again, perhaps) he seemed fine.

It was hard to watch any of the rounds because of all of the rain delays.
A 62 is a stout score.

Keep it on the short grass.

Sabbatini is funny. After the tournament he talked about aiming for the top 10 in the world by season's end. OK, so that's possible seeing how those last couple of spots have been a rotating group of players. Then... he talks about going for #1 in the world next year . I have to give him credit, he's played very well lately but his comments are ridiculous.

Ridiculous? It is ridiculous for him to want to be #1 in the world? I am sorry, but I get fed up with all the pros who just accept that Tiger is better than they are. HELLO!!! Work harder guys. True, you may work your butt off and end up still number 11 in the world, but at least I would respect you for trying. Rory is not my favorite golfer (in fact I probably would watch Tiger over just about anyone, his game matches mine...we are both in the trees ALOT), but I love that he wants Tiger, that he wants to be #1.

We as fans complain about people being afraid of Tiger, then call them ridiculous when they talk about wanting to dethrown him. Would love to know what others think.

I don't have a problem with Tiger's true challengers (Phil, Vijay, Scott) talking about making a run at #1 in the world. I certainly do have a problem with Rory Sabbatini talking about making a run at #1.

How about he at least crack the top 10 before running his mouth about catching the best player in the history of the game?

So you think that every baseball, football, basketball or hockey team should start the year saying "yea we know we are doomed, but hey, at least we are in the pros?"

I want a guy who will put his desire out there..in fact, I think I just became a Rory fan.

I think every golfer should put a bullseye on Tiger-I can't stand the attitude of hey, I'm making my cash so what's wrong with #58 in the world. Maybe it's because I was raised to be ultra-competative but being second sucks and it wouldn't hurt some of these guys to take up that mantra. What if my beloved Red Sox thought like that? Then we wouldn't get to witness this domination we are seeing right now. I would love to hear Phil, Ernie or Furyk say that they are putting in the work with their sights squarely set at being #1 in the world.

It's just more comical than anything else. I'm sorry but I just can't take that seriously.

What are you talking about? Ernie Els has already mapped out his whatever year plan to overtake Tiger. Luke Donald has talked about winning every tournament he enters. Now Sabbatini because he's played well for a month. I'm sick of hearing players

talk about beating Tiger. I'd love for someone to go out and just do it. Or at least challenge him. Have you guys actually looked at the world rankings? It's not even close. Got to admire Vijay Singh. Yeah, he talked about being #1 but he actually went out and did it. I agree that players should work hard and aim at being the best but please go out and perform first. Els is struggling to make cuts, Sabbatini can count his PGA tour wins on one hand and Donald hasn't won in a year. The one guy who probably can make a comment like this, and I'd like to hear it from him, is Phil Mickelson and he's giving the ho hum I'll never be as good as Tiger act.
