13 degree driver for a shallow swingers?

I currently play with a driver that has 10.5 deg. of loft (Mizuno MP-600 NVS 65-R shaft).  The problem is my swing is shallow going through the ball and thus I really end up de-lofting the club.  I get decent distance out of it, but I'd like to get the "true" intended trajectory with it (higher).  I know many say to swing up, but my swing works for me..even if the trajectory is lower...at least it rolls a ton.  I'm debating going to a 13 deg. loft driver just because of this reason.  I can keep the same "flat" swing, but get added loft.

What do you guys think?  Shouldn't the added loft also keep the ball more straight also?  (but I hit it straight anyway for the most part)

I'm not one who is trying to pound the ball into tomorrow.  I am a conservative player and just want to get the ball out there much more consistently.

If anything, go with an adjustable driver.

But if you are hitting shallow with a 10.5 degrees, dont expect to get a lot more height with a 13.

As an experiment, tee off with a 3 wood for a round and see if you are getting the ball flight you want.

What is your driver SS?  Mine is around 93 and I play a 13.5* G15.  I can consistently hit it out about 250, usually pretty straight (sometimes with a slight draw).  I tend to deloft all of my clubs because of my bad swing so it was hard to get a good ballflight even with an 11.5* driver.  Nothing wrong with a high lofter driver, especially with a slower swing speed.  You might find that you get more distance with more control with a 13* driver.  I think if you go try one out, you will be pleasantly suprised at how well it works.

The other day I sold a 12 degree Titleist driver that I set to A4 which added 1.5* of loft so a 13.5* driver. The person I sold it to generated anywhere from 110-115 MPH of club head speed and even with that much loft at an angle of attack of 1 he still had a launch angle of only about 11*. Sometimes he'd get it up to 12-13 but only one in five or so.

I have both a 10.5 and 13 driver and get a lot more height with the 13.  But it's not just the head. The shafts are different.  The shaft for the 13 has a low kick point while the 10.5 has a mid kick point. I have been hitting the 13 great lately so it's in the bag.  I don't get a lot of roll but I'll take a fair carry distance in the fairway any day.

I have to say I am getting the desired trajectory with the 13 deg. driver as well.  My swing speed is 90 mph and it just seems like the ball just floats.  I played with a 7 index player last week.  He was using a 9.5 driver and I was just about as long as he was.  I really enjoying that I don't have to swing out of my shoes and it is going pretty straight each time.

Get some time on the launch monitor and see what your launch angle and spin rate are. This also would indicate what type of shaft you would need.

The science is there..just played with a buddy of mine..decent player..playing with the older TM R7.  I hit my 13 degree with smooth swing..launch was high but it was just floating up there.  He got up and cranked his drive..which appeared to be a stronger lower trajectory..but in the end we were side by side.  It is flat out easier to swing this 13 than my 10.5, less effort and just as far and a better tendency to stay straight.  The misses are alot more tolerable too than missing bad with a 10.5.
