When Burner first came out a lot of people condemned it by comparing it to a fishing rod on a bucket. However, as time went by many started changing their minds and began saying that it actually performs better than r7 Superquad.

Would like hear more opinions and reviews about Burner TP at this point of time. Here are some of the questions you could also answer while reviewing.

1. Is the stock shaft too long or people are just complaining about it when it is still manageable?

2. Has anyone tried custom ordering the stock shaft at a shorter length and how did it perform?

3. If you don't like the stock shaft, which other shafts have you tried on the Burner head? Did it go well with the head?

4. How do you like the sound of the club head?

5. Is there much difference between the 50g and the 65g stock shaft?

6. Burner has a heavy swing weight. How did this effect your drive?

7. Does the STIFF flex feel more like REGULAR flex compared to other shafts? I heard a lot of stiff flex users ordered x-flex 'cause it was whippy compared to other shafts.

8. If you do own a Burner TP driver, would you also buy a Burner fairway?

1. Is the stock shaft too long or people are just complaining about it when it is still manageable?
Its easy to hit IMO.

2. Has anyone tried custom ordering the stock shaft at a shorter length and how did it perform?
No

3. If you don't like the stock shaft, which other shafts have you tried on the Burner head? Did it go well with the head?
Not tried.

4. How do you like the sound of the club head?
Awesome "ping" sound, not too loud.

5. Is there much difference between the 50g and the 65g stock shaft?
I like the lighter shaft, since I am a low swing speed.

6. Burner has a heavy swing weight. How did this effect your drive?
Seems to help me launch higher.

7. Does the STIFF flex feel more like REGULAR flex compared to other shafts? I heard a lot of stiff flex users ordered x-flex 'cause it was whippy compared to other shafts.
Cant comment. You need to swing it for yourself and find out what's right for you.

8. If you do own a Burner TP driver, would you also buy a Burner fairway?
I dont own the TP, but I am sure the woods are nice.

1. Is the stock shaft too long or people are just complaining about it when it is still manageable?
I found no problem with the length when demoing it at my golf course.

4. How do you like the sound of the club head?
Sounded like hitting a really small tin can.

5. Is there much difference between the 50g and the 65g stock shaft?
Not sure. I demo'd the 50g shaft and it played similar to my driver (55g).

6. Burner has a heavy swing weight. How did this effect your drive?
Didn't know about it. It added some distance, but I was duck-hooking most of my shots so it more than cancelled out any advantage I gained from adding 20 yards.

7. Does the STIFF flex feel more like REGULAR flex compared to other shafts? I heard a lot of stiff flex users ordered x-flex 'cause it was whippy compared to other shafts.
Demo'd the regular flex--thought it was actually stiffer than usual.

1. Is the stock shaft too long or people are just complaining about it when it is still manageable? Its not too long, although I got mine at the regular length.

2. Has anyone tried custom ordering the stock shaft at a shorter length and how did it perform? I have the UST V2 shaft at the standard length and it performs great.

3. If you don't like the stock shaft, which other shafts have you tried on the Burner head? Did it go well with the head? UST V2. Yes

4. How do you like the sound of the club head? Sounds great. Just like other Taylor Made clubs. Crisp

The stock shaft on the TP is 45.5 inches, only 1/2 an inch longer than most stock shafts at 45 inches, Ping as a standard uses 46 inch shafts in all their drivers.

2. Has anyone tried custom ordering the stock shaft at a shorter length and how did it perform?

3. If you don't like the stock shaft, which other shafts have you tried on the Burner head? Did it go well with the head?

4. How do you like the sound of the club head? i love it, its a metallic tink instead of a thwock like a lot of the new drivers.

5. Is there much difference between the 50g and the 65g stock shaft? i found the 65 gm shaft to be more stable, the 50gm is tha shaft that i found too whippy and light.

6. Burner has a heavy swing weight. How did this effect your drive? it hasn't...

7. Does the STIFF flex feel more like REGULAR flex compared to other shafts? I heard a lot of stiff flex users ordered x-flex 'cause it was whippy compared to other shafts.

if you were to order the 50gm shaft then yes i would say it feels more like a regular flex, with the gdi shaft though id say its what i woudl expect out of a stiff driver shaft.

8. If you do own a Burner TP driver, would you also buy a Burner fairway? i was actually considering getting rid of R5 fairway to get the burner fairway only because i love the way the head looks.

    • Perceptive rules question by caddie unlocks Tour pro’s ‘dead zone’ relief A perceptive rules question by Xander Schauffele’s caddie, Austin Kaiser, unlocked “dead zone” relief during the Wells Fargo Championship.
    • I ran across an interesting new clip, Johnson Wagner went into that spot with the Referee who allowed the relief.  Apparently there was a perfectly reasonable shot to be made, as Johnson clearly demonstrated, so relief from the TIO was perfectly appropriate. https://x.com/PGATOUR/status/1788998655556415994
    • Once again… it's easier to be "consistent" when you're playing against weaker competition. Despite playing against significantly stronger/deeper fields, Jack was nowhere near as dominant as Tiger Woods was. Jack's "consistency" is a lame way of saying "I like Jack and I want to vote for him as GOAT but I can't come up with a real reason why, so I'll just say he was more 'consistent.'" If someone joined the PGA Tour, kinda muddled around for a year or two, then won 16 majors and 75 total PGA Tour events in eight years, then promptly retired… He'd almost surely have my vote for GOAT. Consistency schmonsistency.
    • Maybe not just the 18 & 15 angle though. Jack's consistency over a long period of time is pretty incredible. Kind of mindblowing to look at his total number of Top 5 finishes in the majors.
