I made a double eagle when I was a sophomore in high school (10 years ago), from a 110 yards with a sand wedge on the 490 yard par-5 seventh at Afton Golf Course in Afton, New York... (yes I hit a 380-yard drive)... Though I have never made a hole-in-one... the closest I've ever come is about 4 inches from the hole... (almost won a car)... Anyone ever have this happen?

What's in Shane's Bag?

My grandfather was a top notch golfer who won 3 New York State Ams and played in the Masters twice and he never had a hole in one in his entire life.  He had 7 albatrosses though.  The hole in one is a mysterious animal.  I'm still waiting for mine!

What's in my Micro Lite Bag:

I had 3 double eagles before I carded my first hole in one.  It was a stat I was very proud of knowing that a double eagle is much more rare.  However in the last 10 years I have surpassed my double eagles with aces though I have added 2 more double eagles to stand at 8 to 5.  Please keep in mind though that I own a golf course and play way north of a hundred holes every week, mostly at my place, so that much golf at the same place you can bet some good things are bound to happen from time to time.

As owner, do you set the par for each hole?  Check this tread out http://thesandtrap.com/t/60259/is-it-really-an-eagle
