3 year peak?

I've heard a few times that when you hit your 3rd year of playing golf you are entering the peak of your ability.  Is this true?  2 and a half years from now am I going to be the best I'll ever be?

LOL!  That's what I thought too but it's what I heard from a few people.  I figured, hell, my 6th year better be better than my 3rd!

No kidding.  That would be extremely depressing for everybody on here trying to get better who's been playing a few years.

I started playing when I was probably 9 years old, so that means I would've peaked in junior high, 26 (holy crap!) years ago.

That statement on its face is absurd.  If that was true, any teenager could beat PGA pros.

What you may have heard is that you will hit a plateau on your third year.  That is you will improve and then seems to be "standing still" on your third year and then after awhile, you'll start improving again.  That generally happens a lot--I don't know about being 3rd year--but where you improve dramatically and then level off for a while and then start improving again.
