Tiger Woods' Old Swing vs. Rory McIlroy's Swing?

Here's some swings to compare.  Not going to even put consider Tiger's swing under Haney, it was a mess.  I'm going with Rory over Tiger 2000.  I like how Rory's arms work more with his pivot and he stays more centered.  Tiger's arms work separate from his pivot, still an effective pattern and Butch did a good job of matching up the components.

Tough to find a camera angle to compare but this is what I got.  Tiger looks like he's hitting a short iron so I got one of Rory doing the same.  When the arms and pivot are work in sequence you can get the pic of Rory on the right, face stabilized while Tiger has to time the flip.  Flip due to his pattern of working the hands straighter back and up.  To me Tiger has to stall the pivot more while Rory can keep turning and extending.  

I just think the pic of Rory is more efficient, needs less compensations.  Left arm matches the shoulder slant, more hip turn, looks more dynamic, shaft alignment perfect to hit high draws.

That is the key.  Rory's swing and form is excellent.  I hope that his body does not break down over time like Tiger's has.  A lot of Tiger's changes are due to the wear and tear.

Tiger's swing had more timing involved.

tough, there both very similar, though i found a few differences

1) tiger had the clubhead deeper, while rory's stayed outside his hands longer

2) Rory's brings his clubhead in from the inside way more than tiger did

3) Tiger cleared his hips more than Rory

Both are extremely good swings, i like Rory's because he seems to have more effortless power than Tiger, which is freaky for his 5'9" frame. Tiger always seem to have to go up to that extra gear to hit a very long shot. Though i think Tiger's swing was more of a shot maker's swing, being less from the inside, he's able to manipulate the club more and hit a wider variety of shots. 

Both are good swings, but to me Tiger uses somewhat more hand manipulations while Rory is more about the big muscles which is what you want. Tiger makes his swing work on a level of sheer athleticism that most normal people don't posess. Rory's swing is a super efficient big muscle swing. While we hackers can't attain Rory's level of efficiency, we probably can adopt his swing mechanics on our way to a better golf swing.

This is what I was thinking, because I honestly have never heard a TV announcer say anything about Rory's ballflight except for him hitting his usual high draw. Tiger, however, you always used to hear about how he would shape the ball into the green, with a possible fade preference. Tiger has also had far more individual shots that were amazing in and of themselves, and I can't seem to recall 1 specific shot that Rory has hit to help him win a tournament. Tiger definitely has a swing that is designed to shape the shot, which I think matches his mentality, whereas Rory seems to aim for having one shot that he can hit time and time again.

Something new I noticed is that Tiger's right (I think, it's behind him when viewed from behind) arm is tucked in closer at the top, and Tiger also begins the rotation of his hips earlier in the swing.
