Old Tom makes cut.

Good old Tom Watson, now 63 yrs, still playing to win. After the first day of the Australian Masters Tourney, Tom lay at 78, a poor showing. Next day he shot 68 and made the cut.  And that 14 yr old Chinese boy, greatly improved from 82 to 70 but missed the cut. But still that is pretty good golf for a kid that young under professional conditions.  Practicing for his upcoming Augusta date, maybe destiny.

Actually the Aust open.

Old Tom was sick, flu I think first round, fought back well. (very popular down here).

Tianlang looks very much 14 years old, interestingly has been using the belly putter since he was seven, his coach in China makes all his new students use it .

Is it just me, or does the course look very ugly and just not right ? I mean the landscape is boring and the greens look extremely firm.

It is located next to the main highway heading south from Sydney right near the airport.  I think it was originally marsh land. They try to cover that up in the coverage, but you can see the cars.  I can't see how all the car exhaust and jet exhaust would help the grass.  I can't imaging a course that close to Logan Airport would look any better.  I remember driving by it when I was in NSW.

It's been warm there according to my friends who live in NSW.  I also think the camera work could use a bit of filtering with the bright sun.  That would make it look a bit greener.  Seems really bright on my TV.

BTW, Sydney is an awesome city, as is NSW.  If you ever have the chance to go, make it happen.

Yeah, I have been to Sydney before, went for a month, also visited Melbourne and Alice Springs and a few days on the Gold Coast, amazing country and Sydney is a great city.  But yeah in the coverage you can airplanes roaring over every few minutes, quite annoying actually.

53 year old Peter Senior ended up winning.  Play was abandoned for 3 hours because of conditions., mainly the wind.

Once the conditions changed for the worse most of the young bucks went missing.
