How far north can I play golf in late January?

My brother and I are thinking of taking 3-4 day golf trip. We live in Montreal, Canada and would prefer to drive. How far south along the eastern seaboard do we have to go to find courses that are open?

 

I was thinking Virginia, but are there any courses open north of that that time of year?

Check out Ocean City, Maryland. Although, it might be so windy you won't want to play.

Here in South New Jersey, we have been between 34-42 degrees the last couple weeks. About the same temp and wind as Ocean City, MD. If you are just trying to whack the ball and avoid snow North Jersey might work for you.

where are you in south jerz? I work in mt laurel, live in philly. 

 

In my opinion, its too cold for play out here, especially with the wind picking up as it has lately. But its a matter of personal preference. I would probably go out on a sunny 45 degree day with little wind. I haven't seen a day like that around here in almost a month now though.

Usually you can play on Cape Cod year round..

Right now they're closed, got some snow this past week, but I'd bet they'll open up again soon.

In Virginia and MD, the course are open unless there is snow in the ground.

Compass Pointe in Pasadena, MD is a really good winter golf experience. It's in good shape and they don't do winter tees.

I have been itching to play but its been pretty cold in PA.  Anything under 45-50 degrees is just too cold to play golf for me.

If I was gonna drive that far, I'd drive another 6 hours past Richmond and be in Myrtle Beach. The greens won't be frozen and you can push a tee into the ground. At least,  that's what I hear.
