Hi All,

In the past I had played with the Bridgestone E6 and the Srixon Q Star, due to the greenside performance I have been playing the Prov1x and the Penta TP5.

I found my short game much improved, the issue I have is that my swing has gone slightly off especially off the driver, I find particularly with the Prov1x it really makes my slice and off centre hits really offline, the Penta is not as bad, but obviously at the cost of these balls and the amount I have lost its becoming a bit expensive.

I am looking for a mid tier ball that performs a bit better than the E6 and Q star around the greens, but will also help me to straighten out of the tee.

Any recommendations?

Thanks all

Clarky

It's about finding what works for you, for me I play the DT Solo.  It's very responsive in my short game, has good distance that is predictable and has consistent ball flight.  I realize this is a two piece ball that may not do everything as well as a tour ball but for my game, it's the one.  Have a blessed day.

I tried the Titleist DT Solo was not a fan.

I might try the Callaway Hex Chrome, which seems to get good reviews, may also try the TM Rocketballz or potentially Nike's new One RZN 3 piece ball when it comes out.  Or the Nike PD soft, much cheaper and the way im losing balls at the moment could be a good idea.

I still have a heap of Penta TP5 to use, the Prov1x I gave to a friend of mine, I was really losing these particularly off the tee, where the Penta seems to have a better flight and not as erratic off the tee for me.

I haven't found anything better than the Top-Flite Gamer v2.  And I just picked up 2 3-dozen packs for $30 each.  Great ball at an insane price.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Maybe the Bridgestone B330-RX or RXS?  Probably the RX because you want to stay straighter off the tee.  They both have urethane covers by the way.

The Callaway Hex Chrome has the same cover as the Hex Black Tour, so you will get similar green side spin. It isn't quite as low spinning off of the driver than the Hex Black Tour though.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
