Matching wedges and removing pitching wedge

Well I wouldn't be worrying about losing yardage when you're talking about wedges. You want to fill your gaps, because the scoring clubs is where it matters most.

What's your current wedge set up? Personally what I would do is leave your PW because it's already matched to the rest of your irons, and make sure the distance you're getting out of your GW and SW give you consistent yardage gaps between all your clubs. 

Edit: I guess you should be worrying about losing yardage, but only if it's because it creates new gaps.

Why do you want to switch it out?

A little confusing to me, so here's a couple of questions.  Why do you think a different 48° wedge will spin more than a Titleist 48°? Also, a 48° PW is more apt to be used with a full swing so shouldn't it be matched to your regular irons?

That should not make much of a difference on full swings.

I like that it looks different. I've written about this before, but the "wedge" look says "scoring time!" more than it would if it looked like my five-iron. :)

Plus I'm more likely to play a half wedge shot than I am a half-seven-iron, so the shaft is slightly different too.

I know!  You are the one who convinced me that matching your PW (and maybe even your 9 iron) down with the other wedges was a better idea then having a PW and GW that matched your longer irons.  (I remember exactly where it was too ... a wedge system review that didn't last due to the fact that they turned out to be prototypes) :)

Of course, ironically enough, I didn't end up going that route just because I liked the PW and UW that matched my irons.

I would definitely replace it since you had to add a lot of bounce taking an AP1 PW from 45* to 48*.

I did The exact same thing you want to do not to gain or lose yardarge but because i could hit 125 yards consistanly and they just feel amazing. I would reccomend this and i actually posted a forum about this with not much response. GO for it and if you dont like it sell the new wedge on ebay. But for me it was a no brainer.
