Ohio Golf Resorts??

Are there any good resorts in Ohio (54 or more holes) with on-site lodging that anyone can recommend?

What part of Ohio?  I've heard that Quail Creek near Cleveland is nice though I haven't played there.  It only has 36 holes though.

Quail Hollow Resort (this may be what the previous poster was referring to) 20 miles east of Cleveland has a fun 36 holes, plus the terrific Little Mountain course is only 3 miles away.

I grew up in central Ohio.  And I'd go to Greenbrier in West Virginia... And drive right through Ohio.

Ohio and golf resort doesn't go in the same sentence... Oh wait.  I just did...  So I guess it does?  But you get my point, right?

Seriously, I'd stay at a nice hotel... And just drive to different courses in the area.  Like stay in Downtown Cincy - and drive and play the various courses in the area.  Or do the same in Cleveland.  There are nice hotels to pick and choose from.  With decent rates/food selections.  And the golf will be way better than trying to slam everything into a one stop destination/resort.

Another great course about 15 miles away from Quail Hollow is the Reserve at Thunder Hill.  Very challenging, but a lot of fun and not too crowded.  I played one of the Quail Hollow courses several years ago and didn't come away that impressed.

Unfortunately, the Thunder Hill course is for sale, did not operate in 2012, and its' future is unknown at this point.

I grew up in NE Ohio & the only place I can recall that has at least 54 holes is Firestone CC - but that's not really a "Resort." There's no hotels nearby, no golf packages.

Having said that, I think that area is severely underrated as it comes to quality courses - there's tons of them. So if you wanted to do a golf vacation in that area, just grab a room somewhere, say in the Burbs of Cleveland & just play a different course each day. The Cleveland Met courses are great (Manakiki, Sleepy Hollow), Windmill Lakes in Ravenna, The Quarry in Canton, etc.

NE Ohio has some of the best golf courses in Ohio. Believe me, i moved to Dayton about 5 years ago, i realized how spoiled i was living up in NE ohio.

All of these are very good golf courses. The top 2 are in my opinion the top golf courses in the area, with the Legends close behind.

Ohio doesnt have any true golf resorts.  Having a nice course with hotels nearby does not make it a golf resort.

Sure it does, you just got to be imaginative :p.
