Pretty sure I'm gonna have to shut it down for a while because of a hand injury.  I haven't gone more than a few days without hitting a golf ball in a year a half, and I've steadily worked from a 100+ player to low to mid 80's in that time frame.

Anyone who's had to take some time off (4-6 weeks) how much does your game regress during that time period? Is it like running or swimming, where you lose fitness very noticeably after a month of not training, or is it like riding a bike, where you can go a year without getting on two wheels and pick right back up?

I swear to god if i go back to having to worry about slicing tee shots and mishitting irons instead of over-drawing and missing greens by feet instead of yards, i'm going to be f***ing pissed.

How long are you going to be down?  Just 4-6 weeks?  At your level, I wouldn't expect much at all.

You'll tend to come back relaxed, swinging within yourself, with little in the way of performance expectations.  As a result, you might actually score a little better the first round or two back....

......of course, by telling you that, I've probably blown the whole "no expectations" thang.  Sorry.

Unfortunately, I took one week off just when I was making a breakthrough.

One lesson, and I am now back on track. Too bad, my coach added nearly impossible one handed drills.
