Thoughts on Callaway's Razr X Black Driver?

This driver has caught my eye.  I am loyal to Callaway and this one is within my price rang. What are your thoughts on it?

Thanks. I will hang up and listen.

I will have to offer a review to my own question. I went ahead and purchased the driver.

I've been playing that driver for the last year. It's forgiving. Has a nice sound and feel when you hit one off the center. Mishits usually stay in play. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the new adjustable drivers, but it's well worth the price.

Let me know how it treats you.

Someone close to me had the chance to goto an outside business and try all the new drivers against each other, he ended up walking home with the RaZR. My GF's did the same and ended up with a R1, both are pretty solid clubs this year.

Two years ago I tried the RazX Black driver at a demo day. Compared it with the Razr Fit, which won out because it felt more solid. RX Black a solid club if want something a little lighter.

I actually liked the RazrX Black fairway woods better than the Razr Fit FWs.

Couldn't get past the closed face angle. Big ol' hook head.

Closed face angle? Hook head? I've been playing it for a year. Doesn't seem overly closed or offset to me?

I've looked at several, new & used. All had extremely closed faces. To my eye anyway.

Hmm... Ok. Maybe I just never noticed it. I have the 10.5*, and it's possible for some lofts to be 1* open while other lofts are 1* closed or whatever. The golf.com reviews that actually leaned me in the direction of the purchase never mention anything about the club over hooking.....

"OUR TESTERS SAY: Among the higher-rated clubs. One of the longest, straightest drivers. High marks for accuracy.

PROS
DISTANCE: Smooth, easy swings yield big results, even on toe and heel hits.
ACCURACY/FORGIVENESS: It keeps you in play and goes where you point it, with no surprise hooks or slices.
FEEL: Crisp, satisfying composite “click” that Callaway drivers are known for; square shots with the 46-inch club feel like they’ll travel a mile.
PLAYABILITY: Shots get up in the air easily but maintain a consistent trajectory; no ballooning.
LOOK: Red alignment lines on the crown draw your eyes to the sweet spot; relatively shallow, long face (from heel to toe) sits below the ball to give the appearance of a high-launching club."

mchepp did a review for the main site back in May of 2012 on the club; here's the link:
