Adams Pro DHy Hybrid

I hit my long irons fairly well.  I have tried hybrids of several flavors over the years and not been able to find one that doesn't tend to hook a lot.  I was considering putting my 2 iron back in the bag and someone suggested I try some of the new driving irons.

I went to a great local big golf shop and demo'd  A Ping Rapture, a Callaway X Utility and Adams Pro DHy Hybrid.  I liked the Adams Pro DHy hybrid the best that day.  I was considering going back and getting fitted potentially adding a 18 degree and maybe replacing my 3-4 irons if I could get the gaps right.

Does anyone have any long term experience with these clubs?

I bought one, it works great off a tee, but I had difficulty hitting it off the turf, especially in thicker grass.  I didn't hit it much longer than a traditional hybrid off the tee so it didn't last long in my bag.  I now use a 5 wood or traditional 3h when I need something more controllable off the tee.

I have the precursor to them, the Super DHy.  I picked up the 21 to replace my 3i and hit it so bloody well that I went back and picked up the 18 and 24 to replace my 5W and 4i.  I love that they fit into my set in terms of both club length and loft and they offer enough forgiveness that I don't worry about slight miss-hits.

I don't bother with a fairway wood on most courses now and just use my 18 (2i) off the tee.  The ball flight is absolutely gorgeous.  Such a penetrating flight and lots of roll out.  It actually goes farther than my 5W ever did.

You do need to be careful how much rough you take on with them though.  They definitely prefer tee and tight lies.
