TaylorMade SLDR S Driver and SLDR Irons Up Close pics and specs

SLDR S is replacing the JetSpeed line. It's very similar to the standard SLDR driver with the a slightly more shallow face, deeper footprint, crown is matte silver and it's non-adjustable. Price will be $329, fairways, $229 and Rescues $179.

 

SLDR irons are replacing the R11 irons. Speed pocket in the 3-7 iron. Basically a progression set, wider soles in the long irons, more "player" look in the short irons. I don't like the look of those irons at all. I guess the Jetspeed line didn't do that great.

I like the color scheme on the woods. The gray scheme is nice.

I love my Speed Blade irons, however, when it comes to the driver I couldn't get the Xhot out of my bag.  It seemed like no matter what I tried, the Xhot was farther and more accurate.  I am actually quite excited about this latest TaylorMade driver.  That being said I don't understand why TaylorMade keeps creating golf clubs so quickly...it really feels to me like I am getting ripped off.

 

before I forget...$329...is that really the going price for the driver?

Yes, since it isn't adjustable they can sell it for less.

Have to say i really like the look of those fairways. Altough i hope the release of these will lower the price of the jetspeed fairways enough for me to consider one in a few months. Haven't actually hit the jetspeeds but have had a look at my friend's and with an inch cut from the shaft it feel and looked really good

I bought the SLDR S Driver in a 14 degree and the other day at the driving range. The guy next to me had a SLDR and when we compared them - the head of my driver seemed smaller than the original SLDR he had. Would this be the silver finish making it look like that or would mine (or his) possibly be fake? He had a 10.5 degree driver and my face on my 14 is much more closed

If anything the silver would make it look a little bigger. I think the fact that you can see more of the face is what is throwing your perception off.

I'm stupid. I really should have taken the pic of them. I can't find any online of both models. It looked "physically" smaller.

They are both 460cc driver heads. I believe the they have very similar crown shapes. The one thing I do see from the images on Taylormade's website is the SLDR S has more of the pain covering some of the face compared to the normal SLDR. So this might make it look a bit smaller I think. They should be very close to identical in size.

I'm skeptical because I bought mine on ebay. It wasn't from an authorized company but the guy had 100% positive feedback and almost 300 transactions. I took a chance. I registered it with the serial number on the hosel and got no errors. I wouldn't suspect anything had I not seen it with my own eyes. It looked like a 430 head next to a 460
