Which tour do you prefer to attend in person?

Hey gang I'm new to the board this is my first thread

PGA, Seniors or LPGA

I have attended many events in person, I live in Virginia about an hour south of DC.  I have attended regular events as well as Majors on each respective tour.  I prefer the Senior or LPGA tour I like the fact the crowds are smaller and it's easier to move around the course following one group or bouncing around following several. I did see the 2010 Open Championship at St. Andrews in person that was the best sporting event I ever attended.  Just curious what others think or prefer

I have also attended all types of events: PGA, mini tours, Seniors, LPGA, silly season, and amateur; both regular events and majors.  Three factors stand out to me as tending to make the event most enjoyable, as follows:

1.  The ability to follow some of my favorite players, regardless of age or gender (Couples, Mickelson, McIlroy, Wie, Creamer)

2.  Tournaments featuring players close to my age (senior), who are playing the game more-or-less the same way I am trying to play it.

3.  Interesting golf courses.  As an Architect, I have studied golf course design, and particularly enjoy seeing how the particular course features affect the games of the players.  If it is a course I have played before, all the better.  (Oakmont, Oak Hill, Port Royal)

My absolute favorite event to attend is the Amateur events like The Walker Cup and US Amateur. Sparse crowds but with tomorrow's star players. You can get really close to the action without a ton of people trampling the course. Love it.

Really, none of the above.  I'd rather play golf in the morning, then watch it on TV later in the day.

Everyone should attend at least one PGA Tour event though, just to see (and feel) how those guys hit a golf ball.  Spend some time on the range if possible.  It'll give them a real appreciation for just how different the game that they play is from that of us normal schlubs!

For myself, I'm with David. Rather play then watch on my 60", tape-delayed so I can FF through the commercials. You miss a lot at the event. But, it's great to go (I've been to 4 or 5) at some point. I mostly enjoy watching them practice whether at the range, chipping green or putting green. Can learn a lot. Now, I did take my daughter to an LPGA event and I really enjoyed that. Star power not as prominent, girls are more approachable, almost seemed as if the ropes were closer to the players, esp as they're moving hole to hole. She became a Lexi fan that day. Really fun.
