I've been Playing Golf for: 10 years

My current handicap index or average score is: 9

My typical ball flight is: complicated

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Driver has too much spin

So I have been told my driver creates too much bacspin which means my 3 wood goes almost as far as my 1 wood in most cases. I have a club head speed of about 135 mph with a 45" Driver . I can probably go a little faster if I went to the rang a bit more, but my driver just does not go a far as I would expect. In the below video is the first time I have been to a driving range in about 4 year and I also was placing the ball a lot closer to the left foot than I normally would, hence the slice shots being in abundance.

The path being severely out-to-in or across the ball is a large concern. Setup doesn't help: your shoulders are open and you reach out for the ball. The latter especially can work for a long drive type swing. Not as much for playing golf.

Funny thing is , when I try to go the other way I over correct and and I literally hook the ball quite considerably.

Well, to be honest, you kind of have to pick a swing and work from there. If your goal is to play golf, that swing (with the driver in particular) may be a bit different. The goals are not the same in golf versus long driving.

If your goal is to hit the ball far, you still want to hit it straighter, even if it's for long driving.

I see what you are saying. I just recieved a 48" long driver and the swing weight seems to be about E2. And no matter how hard I swing it I can't get over 133-136mph head speed. I did a rought check of the current driver I am using and it is about a D2 swing weight, which gives me about 136mph. Funny thing is that the longer driver makes me more upright and I tend to draw the ball a lot more. However, if I really want to swing fast , the outside-in swing is the fastest 'for me'.
