what do you guys think? i heard the new r7 irons are junk but the old RAC models were nice. if you can, give a game improvement and players variation of what you think.

thanks

I certainly wouldn't say the r7's are junk. I have to admit the standard r7's were wat too chunky and looked like shovels to me, but the tp's are entirely different clubs. As far as others.......The forged 300's were sweet

I went from the callaway X forged to the R7 TP. Played the cleveland TA3 for years. The R7 TP are probably the best clubs I have ever hit. I could not be more satisfied with them.

wellll, since you asked. i am new to this game so i bought the r7's thinking they would me perfect for me.. and i was right.. they hit Very straight and with great distance.. I'm still hitting the ball all over the face and they are nice and forgiving.. suuuure they may not Look like forged blades or anything buut that's not what they are.. anyway, i've heard the r7 TP's are awesome.. i may move to them when i get a little better..

I've owned old Burners and RAC OS2's and I'm still currently playing the OS2's.

I prefer them to the R7's. Love em.

played RAC OS2 b4 which were pretty good but R7 TPs are so much better....
depends what u r looking for though ......

r7 TPs good for low handicap (<10)
I would stick to CGB for all else as these are really easy to hit

these TPs feel like you r cheating out there....feel is so/so compared to the forged Mizuno/Titleist but so much easier to hit overall

Prior to the MP-57's, I played RAC Lt2's.

IMO, these are probably the most well rounded iron ever made by Taylormade, and maybe one of the best anyone has made, ever. They have the workability/control of the R7TP with a little bit more forgiveness, and they have a more solid feel. No flashy graphics, just a plain, simple, point and shoot player's cavityback iron.

They were reviewed by the staff here at Sandtrap, here's the link:

I bought new irons, sure...
But I absolutely could not part with my RAC Lt2's, they will never be sold and are always in contention to get put back in the bag.
