Kind of a straw man argument. Ice cores provide thousands of years worth of data, but people with "confirmation bias" just disregard the science. It's amazing how the human brain works when it comes to "confirmation bias", kind of like how a golfer demos irons and claims their favorite brand "feels" the best. Ice cores are cylinders of ice drilled out of an ice sheet or glacier. Most ice core records come from Antarctica and Greenland, and the longest ice cores extend to 3km in depth. The oldest continuous ice core records to date extend 123,000 years in Greenland and 800,000 years in Antarctica. Ice cores contain information about past temperature, and about many other aspects of the environment. Crucially, the ice encloses small bubbles of air that contain a sample of the atmosphere – from these it is possible to measure directly the past concentration of gases (including carbon dioxide and methane) in the atmosphere.

What about that statement is crazy or untrue? Umm... The whole statement is untrue. Read the link from the Washington post I put earlier in the thread. The idea that the Mexican government exports criminals like Castro did in the Mariana boatlift is ridiculous. And The idea that most illegals are criminals or rapists is beyond ridiculous. They have lower arrest rates than Us citizens, and many of those arrest are immigration related, not violent crime. Illegals generally avoid interaction with police, so selling drugs on the street corner is a bad idea for them. Of course some illegals are criminals, or in drug gangs. A population of 10 million illegals will have some bad people.

Was wondering about some good driving range drills. Long bio... Had to quit golf for about 4 years due to chronic golf/tennis elbow and lower back problems, and also a new baby. I'm only 32... Getting back into it and Have played 2 rounds and maybe 6 range sessions in the past 4 months. I know video helps but figured I would follow the rules and try to get involved in the forums first. I'm Having a push-slice with the occasional snap hook problem. If I swing 5 times it's literally, a perfect straight-draw, slight push, Big Push-slice, push, and a "WHO HIT THAT" snap hook. Always had this problem, but when I played alot my timing was usually perfect, so it was playable, can't play that often anymore and this left/right dispersion is a nightmare. It's unplayable. Im hitting both sides of the driving range net!!! I am a longer hitter with a "smash the ball" mindset with limited feel. I can hit half swings or narrow stance swings all day and they are straight, but a real full swing is a mess. I read the 5 keys and understand them. My old swing had an exaggerated "Ben hogan" lower body move and I am trying to limit that. I also stay on my back foot at times with longer clubs. My previous "swing thought" was "slide the hips" but it was over exaggerated so im trying find a new "thought", Which has made me overthink things. I guess I am asking for some good "sequencing drills" Or mental habits on the range. the narrow stance and right foot back drills help, but it seems my problems are more "hands" with an inconsistent release. (Chicken or the egg?) Like I said I just "smash the ball" so it's difficult to translate the"feels" of a a drill to the swing. Reading online it says too much hip slide, or too much hip spin, so it is confusing. Tried "dropping the hands" to get in sequence and that helped. Also worked on spine tilt but I just hit it fat when I do. I'm also a Tom Watson "picker/sweeper" with no divots, but still get back spin so never worried about it. Any tips?

Obviously it is too easy for politicians to be attacked for poorly worded ideas in the 24 hour media era, but Trump doubling down on something so inaccurate and dangerous is cause for the PGA and others to distance themselves. Blaming the government or liberals for political correctness is amusing. The issue is social media has changed the way people communicate, and politicians and corporations have to react to this new reality. Jerry Seinfeld talked about this problem and why Chris Rock and Larry the Cable Guy won't do college shows anymore. You offend a person, and instead of venting to their roommate, now they go on social media and suddenly thousands of people rally to the issue. I think we can all agree the PC issue is a legitimate social problem, but using the confederate flag as PC example is ridiculous. As someone that grew up in rural NC, none of the family members or the kids at my school that flew a confederate flag or wore a confederate t-shirt did it in honor of relatives or heritage. It is a symbol of hate and the N word was used by all of them. My grandfather fought in WW2... in the Waffen SS.... does that mean I should not be surprised when people are outraged when If choose to fly an Nazi flag on my truck? Society, not the individual, decides how things are defined.

Great Recession leads to drop in Consumer spending" Parents still had kids 10 years ago, so balancing life and golf these days isn't drastically different. "Golf is expensive" yet people can afford top golf? It's like $100 in food and drink plus $7.00 for 20 balls, plus a 1 hour wait for a booth. Any hobby is expensive, hunting requires a truck, atv, lease money, gear, and lots of time. Fishing is the same way. Money, money, money, and Getting up at 3 am to be first at the boat launch, then home late at night. With people paying off debt, and a housing bubble, it shouldn't be shocking that there are some empty houses on golf resorts, and used clubs on ebay. Less hackers on the course isn't a bad thing, The industry will adjust, and We might have to wait 10 years for the Taylor made "Super fast adjustable aero speed burner R-37 Maximo awesomeness" driver. But that's okay.
