New Equipment Update and Tweaks

The starting line-up has changed with the addition of a face balanced TM Spider Tour putter. I ordered it at 33.5" with the tour red body with black, silver, and tour red accents with a black shaft. Three footers don't stand a chance.

Intrigued with the driving iron buzz, I checked out the offerings wanting to be fit into a 2 iron Cobra or Titleist U510. When the dust settled, the Titleist U500 was declared the champion in the 20* lofted 3 iron with the 6.0 Hzrdus Smoke Black. I let go of the process and I hit this thing the best and most consistent. I was consistently carrying this 212-215 with a tight dispersion. The 2 irons being a little longer with a flatter face carried about the same but were just all over the place. This is the same carry as my Adams 2 hybrid, which after many years has been retired and fits perfectly gapped between the 3 wood and 4 iron. The first strike on the course was into a par 5 with 225 to the front edge of the green and I got it to one yard on the fringe. I hit a couple of bullets on some shorter par 4s so we shall see how this goes.  Even on some poor strikes, I seem to hit it better than my hybrid and it certainly sets up a lot cleaner.

Other tweaks - I bent the 4 iron one degree strong to 23, 5 iron 1/2 degree to 26.5 (6 iron is at 30 and 4 degrees from there), flattened the SW 1/2 degree to standard and the lob wedge 1 degree to 1/2 down. For reference my 3-Gap are 1/2 up and my SW and LW from a fuller swing hit dead on middle. I was feeling a little heel in the LW and the bunker scrapes were just inside the midpoint. Taking it down a degree puts the center for short game outside of center toward the toe. I could immediately tell a difference in the nip city factor and wished I did this a while ago.

A Mark towards the heel of your sand wedge is a sure sign the lie angle on your sand wedge is too upright! Do you "pull" your wedge shots to the left of the pin? Do you struggle in the bunkers? In many cases you can see a wear...

I like your tweaks, thinking about having a go just for the experience with some old IBF blades I have. I'm going to have to improvise as i don't have a bending bar, maybe try changing the lie on my w/o...

Sandiron lol, auto correct

    • Day 41 (5/15/21) - Since I haven't cut my lawn in a week, its now like the worst rough you've ever seen . I used the opportunity to practice Sieckmann's "c*ck and pop" shot from "Your Short Game Solution". Clearly, this is a REALLY low SV shot (in the past year there are only 2-3 times I could have used it) but since its useful on occasion, for short (5 yard) shots out of nasty greenside rough to a close pin, I took advantage of the opportunity. Additionally, I worked on pitching motion shots.
    • And you, for some reason believe that your judgement is better than the millions of others.  To have the temerity to lecture me on my “duty” as a citizen is the height of arrogance.  Given how relatively little you know about me, my family, and my life, it’s also demonstrably ignorant. To say that someone “doesn’t care” that people die because of the virus is utter nonsense and is nothing but a somewhat pathetic attempt to elevate yourself in your own eyes.  I know, I know.  I’m killing people every time I walk out the front door.   Do you drive?  A silly strawman, but since Erik brought it up awhile back, I thought it would be interesting to look at the numbers.  According to the NTSB, someone in the US who begins driving at 16 will average 3 accidents while behind the wheel in their driving career.  Additionally, one out of every 103 accidents results in a fatality...   ...From a probability standpoint, you’re more likely to be involved in a car wreck in which someone dies in your lifetime than I am to “kill” someone simply because I choose to wait a bit before getting vaccinated. Interestingly, even given that, I wouldn’t have the audacity to think that it was my place to tell you to stop driving before you kill someone.
    • Some Video… Current 6-iron No arm movement feel.  Current Driver Driver swing that feel like they are all turn. Maybe took it a bit to far in the 2nd video. Anything that isn’t this feel the club just keep traveling on further than I want.  Some notes for pitching….  Soft arms, more pivot, keep hands out of it a bit. Can get to handsy.
    • Hey, he's entitled to his opinion.  I've never objected to anyone saying they vote for Jack.  I only object when they start trying to justify their opinion with the kind of non-factual nonsense that is contained in the thousands of messages in this thread.  Or this latest nonsense of DiMarco somehow "gifting" the Masters to Tiger.  It's like saying Rocco 'gifted' the 2008 US Open to Tiger by driving it into a bunker on the 91st hole. But I respect his right to his opinion, even though I think it is unsupported by the facts.  Not everyone has dived into the topic as deeply as we have in this thread, and it is indisputable that the 18>15 criterion is still being peddled whole-heartedly by much of the golf media.  So there are a lot of people whoo still reflect that.
