I apologize if this has already been covered but a forum search netted no results and I didn't really want to read through 31 pages of posts.

I've been using scorecard for full year now (getting ready to start the 2nd year).

One thing I'd like to know is how do you upload your scores to the web? Actually, the more appropriate question would be where can you upload to the web?

Do I have to buy space on a server?

Thanks.

Most likely, yes.

There are some free web hosts out there, but most of them seem to suck and put ads all over your site. There are some awfully cheap web hosts out there. I host mine on my .Mac account, and I'd be paying the $79/year even if I never used their web hosting capabilities, so it's like getting it for free. I can't recommend any free hosts as I've never had to use one recently, but perhaps others can.

Any updates on 2.0? The snow is nearly gone and I'm holding off my purchase of Scorecard until 2.0 is released since I seem to remember a notice saying that 2.0 would be a paid upgrade. Thanks!

We're working on it.

I'll make everyone here a deal if you've not bought Scorecard yet. Deal's over. Here are the people who took advantage. Due to some recent abuse, I'm closing this offer down. These people are of course still eligible. Approved and Purchased - Eeryck - HCB909 - kyota85 - Quinn07 - Enigma - jeffb161

Quick question,

Is there a way to define/configure a different directory for the database file?

Quick question,

No, it's hard coded to go to the proper place. Aliases (Mac OS X) and shortcuts (Windows) work, though, if you want to store it somewhere else. Just alias the proper directory.

The reason I ask is that I would like to be able to install the program on a thumb drive or be able to share the database over my network in some way.

Some days I use my laptop in the house and other times I am at my office computer in another part of the house. My office computer is not always turned on during the weekends or at night. I would like to have Scorecard on both computers and have them both updated with the same database. Maybe even an option to store the database online at my own web space ? Any ideas ?

And I gave you the answer. Put the database and license wherever you'd like, and alias or shortcut the directory in the automatic stored location.

That's what I do. Just alias or shortcut the directory. It worked for me when I had my Scorecard files on my iDisk, and it works for me when I have the files on my Dropbox.

The latter's free - use that: https://www.getdropbox.com/home For any further support issues, please email us.

OK that works great...

I had no idea Shortcuts would work like that. I was always under the impression that shortcuts were for humans to use, never thought about using it to direct a program to a file location.

Anyway I put the database file into a directory in My Document and made shortcuts for both the laptop copy and and the office copy of Scorecard.

I will look into the offline file shortcuts later, for now this works great.

Thanks again

Kelly

Erik,

I looked at the site, and screenshots....this looks promising for identifying some weaknesses. A few things:

If I download the 5 round trial, and subsequently purchase Scorecard, can those entries be saved?

Also, can you currently enter 9 hole rounds, or is that in the upcoming 2.0 upgrade?

Thanks!

In the Titleist bag on the ClicGear 2.0:

PILOT: Titleist 910 D2 Axivore Tour Red

3 WOOD: Callaway 3-Deep 13*

IRONS 3-PW: Mizuno MP-32

WEDGES: Vokey TVD 54* SM5 58*K

Nothing happens to them. They're not "saved" or "thrown away" at all - they're just used. Your data file isn't moved, altered, etc. when you buy a license.

In other words, you use the trial for five rounds, buy a license, and all that happens is that you're allowed to enter more than five rounds in. The five you entered in already remain intact.
Also, can you currently enter 9 hole rounds, or is that in the upcoming 2.0 upgrade?

Not really, nope. Coming in the 2.0 upgrade, which we're close to releasing in private beta.

will the 'upgrade' to 2.0 for 1.0 users be less than buying it new if you didn't already have scorecard 1.0? I saw that whole couple posts about getting a deal got shut down, just wasn't sure, now that thats over, what the scenario is.

The upgrade will probably be $15. Our policy is that our upgrades will not be > 50% the cost to buy the app new.

oh alright. As for 9 hole support, will that mean you can use the 9 hole rounds towards all of your statistics too?

Discussed

here IIRC.

Sneak peek at something coming in 2.0:

Obviously with someone who's a little less consistent, it'll show a bit more.

    • Welcome back! Evolvr.com? I don't use the full extreme end of it, and that's probably dipped to 75% or so nowadays. But I use the sole more than I don't, yeah. Also… it's good to learn this shot: Middle up. Not generally outside your feet in either direction. I generally have it slightly forward of center, yeah. Short version: tip your upper body in the direction of the slope. Look at the GC3. You can find them for really good prices sometimes.
    • 3 rainouts in a row….that’s SAD Sorry, I’m in MI or I would take you up on a round.
    • Day 3:  I tried to hit a bucket at the range but an 80 year old man (he told me his age, showed me his knee replacement scars, told me all about his chronic low back pain, etc) couldn’t pass up the opportunity to mansplain to me every little thing I’m doing wrong.  Dude, it’s my third frickin day.  I know I need to twist my hips more, I know I need to keep my head/chest down and not pop up, I know I need to hit through the ball and follow through further, yada yada yada.  I know.  That’s exactly what I’m trying to work on.  How about you tell me or show me how to do those things instead of telling me to watch Iron Byron videos?  Rough day.
    • Day 132: 5/7/24 Full Speed Spectrum Training session 8/24. 7th training program overall.    Another slow session but 4 mph faster than my last session, which was my slowest ever. Going to the doctor on Friday to check on pulled neck muscle.
    • Day 26: Did full swing practice after work. First 15 balls were working on top of the backswing feel, and then tried to incorporate transition feel into the next 15 balls. A's, although this will be my last season of being a fan as they leave for Las Vegas (by way of Sacramento for a few seasons). Hard to see myself rooting for the Giants, but if that's the only MLB in the Bay Area, I guess I might get on board.
