I'd love to be dating someone who loved to play golf as much as I did, and even more so someone who was actually quite skilled at it.

If you're serious on finding a GF who LOVES golf....I suggest you hang out at K-Town and H-Mart on North Road in Coquitlam.

Korean women love to play golf....and some are quite skilled.

lol, what are k town and h mart? the names sorta ring a bell, but im white so ive not been to either place.  anyways, I see tons of asian girls when I practice at eaglequest, but theyre all either 12 years old, or maybe university players who do not seem like looking for a man is any sort of priority for them if you know what im sayin.  either way, I have a gf, however she does not golf. I took her mini golfing once and she said her wrist was sore from putting lol

Google is your friend.

K-Town = KoreaTown

H-Mart = Korean grocery store...retail chain.

Just because you're white shouldn't stop you from venturing to "non-white" communities and establishments....Van City is diversified a city as there is in North America.

You stated. previously that you'd love to date someone who played golf and was as passionate about golf as you are...and a skilled one at golf that would be great too....so are you not happy with your current GF who doesn't like golf...never mind mini-putt.

Good luck man, I play golf to get away from my wife. We've been married 20 years, and we spend plenty of time together without me having to take her to the golf course with me.

Funny story, this past summer my buddy and I were catching an afternoon 18 and the twosome in front of us was a man and his wife (or girlfriend I don't know for sure). I don't know what he had done, but she was pissed off at him. The #6 green and #7 teebox are right next to each other and as we drove up they were walking off the box and she was giving him an ear full. I turned to my buddy and said that's why I don't play golf with my wife. The next three holes that guy was always on the opposite side of the fairway from her, I know it was on purpose. 😜

Yes it's a double-edged sword.I think the ideal would be a wife/girl-friend that SOMETIMES plays.

I've seen couples that look like they always partner on the course. I think it changes the dynamic - and not in a great way.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

thank you for the lesson on diversity.  my gf is from dubai

i assure you, any issues i have with her are not related to golf lol

I was just saying I had a strong desire for many years to date a golfing chick.

You're welcome on the diversity lesson....lol.

As long as your GF, future wife, etc isn't hating your time spent golfing...you're good to go.....but if they resent you golfing too much....obviously you'll need to nip it in the butt ASAP.

My wife and I use to play golf often...weekly/vacations etc...but unfortunately she doesn't play anymore...I always enjoyed playing golf with her...but I also have no issues and enjoy playing golf with women.

My wife also has no issue with my time golfing...she often pushes me to play when I decide not to.

oh I can tell this girl hates all the time I spend at the range, even though it's when shes usually working, and she definitely doesn't like me getting up early to go golfing on the weekend if she spent the night, but I've kinda made it clear I don't give a f*** and that having hobbies is good for you as long as theres balance.

Maybe she just wants you to go out for coffee with her on the weekend.  Continue to enjoy your presence.  Why don't you surprise her this Saturday, wake up and say, "Hey Sweetie, let's go out for coffee."  It's not like it's great weather for golf.  Hey, a good double mocha at Starbucks could become a hobby.

Do as you wish...it's your life...but I'd say finding a golf addicted Korean GF/wife would be more suitable than telling your current GF "I don't give a f*ck"...that's a recipe for DISASTER.

Heck...... the Korean GF/wife would likely wake up early on the weekend to make you breakfast and then you both can go play golf...heck she'd likely even want to play 36 holes.

As a white guy...you can learn a lot about Koreans...there's currently a Kim's Convenience marathon on CBC right now...it's so hilarious.

Oh ya....the Korean GF/wife would also likely buy you the latest TM or Ping driver for Xmas vs. a pair of socks from Winners.

oh of course. it's not like i tell her to f off on the weekends.  but i do have a early morning sunday thing a few times a month during the summer with my golfing buddy.  but basically since october i've been with the gf on the weekends.

as far as not giving a f***.  you know, to an extent.  but seriously, it drives me nuts when women or men, get jealous that you have interests or hobbies outside of the relationship.  if youre spending 99% of your time on the golf course, and none with her i get it.  but if youre gone from 7am to 11am on a sunday morning on some nice days, i dont think it's a big deal, and frankly, I wish my partner to have interests and friends outside of me.  as much as it would be pretty swell for my gf to enjoy the thing i love on a similar level, i'm not just gonna kick my gf to the curb because of the off chance i could meet a korean girl.  besides, i buy my own socks at 'winners' lol

    • So I am aware that "the committee is allowed to set its own standards of player conduct in a code of conduct adopted as a local rule" (rule 1.2b) I also understand that there are some aspects that are allowed to be entered, and some that are not allowed.  My question specifically is: In which form does this code of conduct need to be available? Is it enough for someone to say "that's part of our code of conduct", or is it a requirement, that the code of conduct is in written form? Also, is there a need that the local rule points to the code of conduct in any way?   For better understanding: I'm playing competition and the next course that we play has a "no smoking policy". I don't have a problem with it, as I don't smoke anyway, but one of my team-mates does, and someone told him "You'll get disqualified if you smoke on the course".   Now I have looked at their local rules and there is no reference to a "code of conduct". I'm not sure if they even have an official "code of conduct" that states that smoking is not allowed.   I fully agree that he SHOULD respect this request from the club, but I am wondering if the club would really be allowed to DQ this player for this, if it's not properly documented in their local rules/code of conduct?  This is an official national amateur tournament, so not just something organized by a club for its members.
    • A few months back I purchased the following swing aid on Amazon ($130). It is solidly made of steel and heavy and stable in use. I use it both at the range and at home. Swing Plate Dual PRO by Jamie Brittain - Swing Analyzer Aid - Fits Standard 8mm Alignment Rod Sticks - Teaching Swing Plane Perfector - Indoor/Outdoor Golfing Practice. This winter I set a goal for myself to improve my backswing/downswing to be more consistent and on plane. I had a two way miss with my approach shots this past golf season. I have a hitting set-up in my garage, but I needed something to provide feedback while swinging the club. I came across the Swing Plate while browsing YouTube.   I set it up with the correct angles for my 8 iron. I started out with just the back rod in place, which prevents me from getting too far inside on the backswing. Started out slow and as I got comfortable increased my swing speed. Now I also came across a YouTube video on building a better backswing and getting more width in the backswing and added that to my practice. That video is here:    This video is a bit wordy since you are basically a fly on the wall as Ian gets a lesson. It took a few replays to be able to get the substance of the instruction. It was well worth the effort. Over the last two weeks I have been able to get out on the course and gauge how successful my practice has been. Overall, my consistency with approach shots has improved greatly. Incorporating the added width in my swing has also added a few yards to all my clubs.  What has your off-season training been like?
