Wachovia Championship, since he'll be defending, and obviously the playoff events. I'm sure there will be a couple of others to help fill up the bare minimum needed to keep his PGA Tour membership. He has already played two so expect about 14 more.

He's had two regular season stops so far

Wachovia - he's the defending champion and enjoys the course. The PLAYERS - because he just doesn't seem to miss this one. The Memorial - Jack's tournament. 3 FedEx Cup playoff events That's 15, and I bet he plays no more than the minimum any time in the near future.

why would tiger care about keeping his pga tour membership?

They will beat their swords into golf clubs and their spears into putters. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Old Tom Morris 2:4

He's going for PGA Tour wins, and if you aren't a member, you can only play on so many sponsor's exemptions and so on each year. He wants easy access to the tournaments he intends to play.

Seriously, can you see Tiger Woods in a Monday qualifier?

that's probably a little closer to what his actual schedule will be. About 18 events. There are two events, Bay Hill (the King's tournament and a good history there), and the Buick (one his major sponsors and a good history there, too) he will play, most likely. Beginning at the end of July, the Tour schedule is pretty bunched up with events he usually plays; It's difficult to predict which events he will end up playing and which ones he skips. My guess is he skips at least the Barclays and plays the Buick if it follows the PGA (both at Oakland Hills?), and possibly skips the BMW since it is no longer being played at Cog Hill (I think he has won a few on that course, too). I think he also has a financial commitment to Deutchebank, so he plays in Boston. The bottom line is he plays the events he (and his sponsors) wants to play, and not the ones the Tour wants him to play. We will know more as he commits to tournaments.

I thought Buick ended their sponsorship arrangement with Tiger?

Are you referring to the Arnold Palmer Invitational on March 13 - 16 at Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando, Florida?

If not please let me know what tournament you are referring to. http://www.pgatour.com/r/schedule/

Like others have said, he should be at the Wachovia. I'm planning on going to a practice round (very early in the morning) to catch Tiger and get some photos of him. He's normally out and on the course well before 7:00 AM.

Fairways and Greens.

I can't find anything on it either. I also can't find anything on what they used to call "designated" tournaments. I guess that deal is over.

I would suspect:
  • The Players Championship
  • Arnold Palmer's Tournament
  • The Western Open
  • Maybe the Byron Nelson
  • The Buick in Michigan
  • Maybe Jack's Tournament
  • 3 of the four FedEX "finals"
  • The Tour Championship
Whatever. That gets him to 15 or 16 events. I don't expect to see him much more than that.

I had not heard that so I did some more Googling.

Here's what is says at: http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/21/b...-picks-him-up/ It's an automobile industry site. Buick demotes Tiger Woods, OnStar picks him up Posted Jun 21st 2007 6:58PM by John Neff Filed under: Marketing/Advertising, Buick Man, we really feel for Tiger Woods. Just three days after the birth of his first child, Sam Alexis Woods, the guy basically gets canned by Buick as their numero uno spokesperson. Seriously, how's a guy that swings a club for a living going to support a family without endorsements like Buick's? Sure, he's still got the Nike account, but all babies do are eat, sleep and poop, the latter of which requires diapers, which are hella expensive. Buick says it wants to focus attention back on its product (really?), so while Woods will still appear in some advertisements, he won't be used solely to divert one's attention from the product anymore. General Motors has a heart though, so they've thrown the kid a bone and offered young Woods a stint endorsing OnStar. We'll likely see him appear in more of those celebrity-laden commercials with Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Kimmel, Kelly Rippa and the gang. We wish Tiger all the luck in the world without the deep pockets of Buick behind him anymore.

Is MJ going to partner with him at the pro-am again?

If so, can you go then too and get some pictures of that for us?

Ah yes, Google. Something I should have used. Thanks for the heads-up. That explains the 9-iron commercial.

Problem is that the Pro-Am is really, really packed. I probably won't go to the Pro-Am because of that reason. I'll just hit a practice round...very early.

Plus, as a Duke fan, why would I want to take pictures of Jordan?
