Hello all,

I am getting so frustrated, I have been golfing for 5 years now and have a bad habit of releasing the club head early. Last year I worked my way down in the 80’s now I’m back up to 100 I can not kick this habit. I have watched several videos. I just can’t train my body to do what my mind wants it to do. Anybody out there ever Conquer this issue? I could really use a solid tip and some direction.
Thank you!

Generally, that early release or casting or flip are caused by something else going on.  So you need to figure out what the "something else" is, rather than taking the shotgun approach, trying every possible cure.  The best thing to do is to post a video of you swinging in the Member Swings area.  Be sure to read the Hidden contents, particularly the thread about filming your swing, so you get the most useful video you can.

Do that, but better than that, even, is to find a good instructor.

I have had and to some extent still do have the same problem. What has helped me is to start my downswing by first bumping my hip slightly forward, It feels awkward at first but that is my first thought when at the top of my backswing. For me this movement help to clear the hips first as I rotate my upper body. I tend to then fall into the slot and not caste the club, (if that makes any sense).
