Right Thumb Position for Right-Handers?

I feel more secure with my over-hand thumb(right handed) pointing down the shaft rather than over the shaft pointing towards the left.  What do most say?  Thanks.

I'm a lefty and my left thumb is touching my index finger, ever so lightly.  But this is what feels right to me.  I guess others place the thumb on the grip.  I would think this would get in the way of wrist hinge at the top of the back swing.  🤷‍♂️
