I cannot tell from the photograph; but I've never seen a cracked iron head in 50+ years of playing golf.  Cracked drivers and fairways...yes...but never an iron.  It is possible to break the hosel while adjusting the loft and/or lie of an iron but that is most likely to occur with a club made of a much harder alloy than Mizuno uses...a Ping four egg sample.

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."

Looks like a scuff, plus the bottom groove seems to have a shadow casting on it or something making it look a little dark. They look better than my 4-year old Pings that maybe have 200 rounds on them. Can't imaging a pro would risk his reputation on something like this. You could always send them back, right?

I can see what you mean from the photo it kinda looks that way. I feel pretty sure that's just the way the light is hitting it.

I've also never heard of a forged iron "cracking" like that. If was one of the hollow head designs maybe. But I think you are probably safe on this one.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

If you click on the photo you can zoom in a bit but yeah it is hard to see exactly what's what with that part of the 6 iron from the photos that were up. The back of the club heads are pretty spotless so it's a bit of a shame it looks like the 6 irons taken a bit of a whack.

4, 5 and 6 have got small hollow cavities inside them on the MP-25s so I wondered if this could be a factor when determining if its just superficial damage, or something more.

I can send them back no questions asked if I think they are damaged too much but for the price I paid I'd probably try and replace the 6 iron if it came to it and I don't fancy the hassle of it with how things are at the moment.

I almost got them a few years ago new when I tried a few clubs out but decided against it as I wasn't playing enough at the time so I'm hoping it's just cosmetic but I guess I'll found out when they arrive!

Does the 6 iron look cracked at the lower part of the face? The pro at my pro shop says the clubs are in very god condition and its only superficial

It’s probably dirt in the bottom groove. There’s a scuff on the leading edge too. It would be extremely unlikely to be a crack.

having now seen them in person it definitely isn't a crack.

It's not the lowest groove but the bottom of the face/ start of the leading edge

I think the shadow/ angle was pretty unflattering as it looks a lot less 3D in real life, more of just discoloration/ scuffing with maybe a tiny bit of oxidation.

Otherwise they look great in person and looking forward to getting out on the course with them!
