The woods and irons were free...handed down to me when my Grandpa passed. The driver and putter where also hand me downs, from my father and brother, respectively; leaving only the sand wedge and shoes.

Titleist 695 CB 3-PW: $460
Titleist SM Vokey 54*: $90

All brand new, most off Ebay so shipping was probably another $100 total. Not to bad if you ask me. I'm very happy with every club I've purchased, besides the putter.

Northwestern Woods (1-3-5-7-9) $125.00
Goldwin Irons (3-10 plus PW) $450.00
60 degree wedge I also use as a Sand Wedge, $35.00
See-More Putter, $100.00
Knight Stand Bag: $60.00
Bushnell Rangefinder: $125.00
Current pair of shoes: $75.00
Pull Cart: $60.00
60" Umbrella: $0.00 (got it in a tournament)
Balls, Tees, Gloves, Miscellaneous: n/a because ongoing cost.

TOTAL: $1,030.00 (Give or take, amounts are approximate).

When I got my Irons, I also bought a Goldwin Driver and 3-wood for about $350-$400 total but could never hit them so I didn't include them in my cost sice theyt are sitting in the closet right now. My woods I am using now, I saw them at K-Mart and decided what the heck, 25 bucks for a driver, let's see if I can hit it. I hit it better than any other driver I ever owned, so I bought the 3-, 5-, 7- and 9-woods too and found the 3-wood is better for me than the driver, so it usually stays home also, as do my 3- and 4-irons.

My wife just started golfing this year, we bought her clubs off Craigslist for $90.00, got her the newer version of my stand bag for $20 off Craigslist, and got her shoes for $75 (at Sports Authority, same as mine, just womens). So we got her started for $185.00 . . . we'll most likely buy her a new set of woods and irons next year if she keeps improving like she has. I just gotta brag, she got a BIRDIE and a PAR her first round she ever played! She hasn't beat me yet, but her best round is better than my worst round so it might happen soon!
My Equipment:
Northwestern 3-, 5-, 7- and 9-wood;
Goldwin AVDP Irons (5-10 plus PW);
U.S. Golf 60 degree wedge;
See-More Putter; Bushnell Yardage Pro 1000 Rangefinder;Golflogix GPS.

    • I thoroughly enjoyed Erik ripping the article apart. Well done sir.
    • Day 47. Technique practice into the net working on evolvr feedback for 15 minutes.
    • Day 10- Worked on grip and keeping swing short.
    • Yes, slightly. Hitting driver and three wood much better, generally straight or a slight draw, Especially since I upgraded from ping G 410 to G 430. Both clubs have 2degrees more loft. That together with a slight swing  change, improved technology ,definitely getting more distance.  On the downside not hitting my ions as well as normal, pitching definitely improving, especially for someone who got to a four handicap 30 years ago and couldn’t pitch . Chipping a bit up and down, pardon the pun, that was definitely one of the reasons I got to that  handicap when I played many moons  ago, ( I stopped playing for 20 years), better short putter than I was before Had quite a few opportunities to shoot my age, 73, mostly didn’t chip as well as I could when I had the chance.
    • Finally, birthday number seven, just short in two & pitched to about 5 feet.  front nine all done! Also, got a lucky eagle on three, caught a nine iron a smidge  fat, never left the  pin landed short and rolled in the hole
