One of my goals this year is to rely more on expert instruction and accountability. I'm interested in finding an online virtual coach (I roam around the country throughout the year... in El Paso now, western NY most of summer, usually about 2 months in Florida) that can help with mechanics, mental game, practice planning, strategy, and course management. I'm a 9.3 index right now.

Any recommendations from the hive mind?

Well, you can ask others here who have done it and who are doing it currently, but evolvr.com is my site and I’m in the Western NY PGA. Was their Teacher of the Year in 2019.

So I recommend evolvr.com.

As a first step, consider opening a My Swing thread here:

@iacas owns The SandTrap, is an excellent instructor, and gives very good advice there.  He is also involved with www.evolvr.com .  I've read of others who have had very good experiences with Evolvr, but I haven't used it myself.  And I had this all typed when I saw Erik post his response above.

I second Evolvr. I’ve been using it for a few years. You are a 9.3 index, so you have a decent game already.

Ahh, didn't know about that option. Love your book and have gifted it twice already, so this is a great lead. I'll likely sign up shortly. Are you and team able to get into more than swing mechanics, e.g. improvement strategy based on SV and gaps I might have?

It’s tougher to do because it’s not in person with the back-and-forth. But you can shape it how you want to some extent. It’s still only $49/month so there is a limit, but I get into the stats and stuff with my guys on there.

Just be as direct as you can be and share stats.

I’ll also say this: as a 9.3 your biggest gains are still going to be mechanical, and that’s what does work well on Evolvr.

    • Day 58: night putting session for about an hour. Started with lag putting and ended with putts inside 9’. I need to work on putts from 6-12’, but in a solid spot overall.
    • Birdied a different #6 today (incidentally, also a par-5, but not the same one on which I previously birdied).  Here's the funny thing though:  it's the par-5 that caused me to post my "how do I avoid bogeys?" on par-5s recently.  So I guess I still haven't parred that hole.
    • Day 20, May 24.  Played 18 today, very poor ball driving.  One GIR, and it was a 4-wood from the rough.  Several other instances of hitting a green on a full swing (and at least one full swing motion -- a 50% UW) that wasn't for GIR.   Still shot an 87 and even had a birdie (chip-in).
    • Welcome to TST.  I spent a bit of time in the UK but I had to look up Wagon Wheels.  Don't think I ever saw them.  Had to Google to see.  Couple similar items in US but Google says they are different. 😁
    • Day 264 5-24 Worked on getting chest through and arms down infront of chest. Contact isn't great yet but on video looking better.
