Anyone tried these new 4-piece balls yet? They're supposed to be awesome, what do you all think of them?

I havent played them yet..but ive been hearing big things about them...I hear they are very soft ...i am anticipating trying them soon along with the HX Hot Bite that is supposed to be a sleeper..

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

tried the 'hx hot bite' on sunday, seems a little softer than my curent ball prostaff 360, but didn't notice any huge diffferences in spin with my cg14 wedges. with a full shot onto green, it would bounce once than roll about 1 foot forward. picked up a dozen for 44 aus dollars i.e. about 40 us. keep in mind most golf stuff is more expensive in aus than us.

I haven't hit the course yet this season but I am hearing that the Tour ix is having durability issues. Apparently spins just as well as the Pro V1 but is not as durable.

The Callaway scuffs up way yo much. I am using a pro v1 at the moment and the Callaway would compare to the pro V1 in my eyes.

Saying that they scuff up so i am going to stick with the pro V1.

So unless you really want to keep buying dozen after dozen for the callaway's dont both

Ive tried these balls in 3 rounds - changing every 9 holes
but did not like them one bit (i was coming from Wilson Staff Tx4), they seemed to have goof control around the greens, but felt too light when struck and did not have as good as distance as other balls i have played with (Pro V1 etc.)

    • Having a rough week. Went to the Dr. because I was really weak and could hardly swing my driver.  I take Propranolol 20 mg tablets twice a day. Seems like the Propranolol was driving my pulse down (low 50's).  So we cut the dosage in half and I started taking my blood pressure. It was a little high but pulse came up.   Then yesterday I raised it to 15 mg tab by taking it 3 times a day. Blood pressure 127 / 77 Pulse 75.  Heading out tomorrow morning for 18 holes.    I have my driver set at 10.5* but seem to have my swing speed to low and I can't get the lift on the ball I need.  I have not played this week in hopes I will have the strength to raise my swing speed. I may have to raise my loft to 12* . (I will take my driver wrench) tomorrow. (This Parkinson's is a pain in the butt.)  Will give you a report when I get back.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • You still got to lift your arms. You basically just roll your wrist over in the 1st half of the backswing.
    • Day 288 6-17 Low point control without ball. hit quite a few swing where i was wanting the club to hit the ground.  Added a ball with towel behind it, just to see where im at. Wasn't horrible but need some more work. Pretty much full speed swings.
    • Current state of the program.  I can only do 25-50% swing speed, probably under 50% since I was hitting the ball out to the 150 yard marker (yay!),  to get the arms down and somewhat turn the body through impact. I mean somewhat. Arms down + body turn don't like to mesh at all. Anything faster and the body does stupid uncoordinated stuff. Mostly, I am stuck in the old pattern of staling the turn and flipping at the ball.  So, until I see progress. I am not posting anything here.
    • Thanks for the video! Do you think a ball between the arms type of training aid would get me in a better position? I also have a Tour Striker Swing Trainer (PlaneMate-like contraption) if that could be helpful.
