So i finally had a chance to visit the Callaway performance center in Carlsbad and I highly recommend it if you use or plan to use callaway clubs. I concentrated on my irons and did some measurements on their swing machine. Its not really designed to give you a lesson, but gives you a really good read out on your swing path and contact with the ball. After the fitting, i found that my irons were a tad too long and needed to be bent 2 degrees up-right. I am also getting some of the new golf pride grips installed.

Here is the free things i received:
- towel
- hx tour golf balls-12
- golf pride grips
-Tour i golf balls- 12

*** The guy also showed me a prototype of their new forged iron. It looks very much like a true blade. These will cost a premium and be manufactured in limited quantities.

Below are a few pics. They would not let me take photos inside of the fitting area.

yes, been here a few times, awesome facility. My work does business with callaway and i get to go back into their warehouses and check out all the new stuff. The place looks like a costco just filled with heads, shafts, grips, everything, its heaven. but if you think this is nice, you should check out the titleist testing facility in carlsbad as well. man alive.

how much did it cost you to get fitted there?

Thanks for the review..That looks like a cool place

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

the fitting cost me $150

i wouldnt say better, but its definately top notch, all gated up and secluded.

150 bucks isnt bad, especially when you get 80 dollars worth of balls and a full set of grips. im gonna look into that!

Question: does it count towards purchase of Callaway clubs?

Question 2: Why so many places for this stuff in Carlsbad? Callaway, Titleist, I think TaylorMade might have one there too? Don't they know it's a two hour drive for me?

I didn't get the gift certificate because I couldn't find my original receipt. :(
