i got hired on as a framer for this big commercial const company here in bend. But they never moved people up. I always enjoyed talking to the estimaters and the Project managers. Maybe I will try it someday.

Who do you work for? I'm with PCS. We're doing a big hospital in Eugene - I'm actually supposed to go down there next week.

I miss being in the field, but my golf swing and flexibility have improved a ton since becoming an office guy.

No doubt. I'm an estimator for a Large commercial landscape construction company, and while I was in the field, I had neither the time or energy for golf. But now.......

Nice to see another member in the Seattle area, as well as a fellow guesstimator. We'll have to connect for a round sometime.

I'm a project manager for a structural steel fabricator. Like the estimator for the construction company that posted a few posts ago, too much stress and too many hours.

Being a high school student, I work in the cart barn at a pretty exculsive club, which means all the balls left on carts are up for grabs, and employee golf monday!

Basically I started working at a local public course Hunting Hawk Golf Club as a players assistant (cart kid) and after three years, they moved me inside to manage the players assistants. I love the job free golf all over the city, and free practice facility. Pretty good pay and an awesome boss.

Free lance web developer; now spending a majority of the time on search engine marketing. Whenever I have a free moment I prefer to hit some balls over anything else. Basketball is still a favorite, but golf is catching up quick.

I run therapy (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy) programs in subacute nursing facilities. A far cry from golf, but my boss plays and that makes it easier for me to take a day off or cut out early to play.

I'm a Golf/Tournament Director for the largest independant golf packaging company in Myrtle Beach, SC. My primary focus is on Outings/Tournaments .. I work with companies like like Harley Davidson, SYSCO Systems, HBO, State Farm Ins, Pepsi, etc ... to set up incentive trips/yearly outings.

2 of my cousins and myself own a Video Production company, Signature Hole Productions Inc, we specialize in high quality video for web, DVD and TV broadcasting. Our forte is detailing the experience you wil lreceive at a golf facility. We take you from the Pro Shop to the signature holes so you'll have "been there" before actually "going there". I also host a "series" called "Play the Hole with your Golf Director".

Hey all,

New member but thought I would add to the postings. What I do:

I'm a professional audio mixer for Canada's all business news network, Report on Business Television (ROBTv) and I also work for Hockey Night in Canada - hence the nickname and avatar.

If you're ever watching, err listening to our station between 8am and 1:30pm EST, that's me you're hearing
Let me know what you think.

Cheers,

Andrew S.

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
    • I moved a few posts that were here to here:
    • I think that's mostly about lowering the CG. 🙂
