Can anyone tell me the differences between these two besides cosmetics?  The 2021 version they’ve filled in the holes of the head but is there any other differences like forgiveness?  I can’t seem to find much info between these two and the Pga Superstore is selling them both at the same price.

  • iacas changed the title to 2019 vs. 2021 Odyssey Ten Putter

I don't think you will see any performance difference between the two.  Is there any difference between the face inserts?  The newer version is more similar to a "spider like" head design.

You’re right, I don’t see any performance in things like forgiveness. I can feel a slight difference in the feel between the two though. The 2019 model has a softer sound and feel than the new one. I seem to putt better with the newer one. Not sure if it was because of the thinner top line and filled in holes on the body, or if because the 2019 model had a superstroke grip with a counterbalance weight in the butt. I putted good with it too but seems like I was more consistent with the newer model.  I need to do some more testing.

This may help you:

Rahm2BallTen.jpg

You may have seen Jon Rahm using an Odyssey 2-ball Ten putter in recent weeks. Now, that putter and more are available. Here's what you need to know.

This talks about the subtle differences between the 2019 and the 2021.

I think the visuals will be the biggest difference. Which may or may not help you.

You may want to get fit and see if you are better in lining up one or the other.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I could be wrong but I thought Rahm was gaming the Rossie S putter and not the two ball.

    • I agree that in a pure stroke-play situation the use of E-5 limits the possible scores by limiting the potential to hit multiple shots OB.  But in a Stableford or "quota" game, a player is likely to be in "blob" territory anyway, so its a minimal difference.   I understand that E-5 is viewed differently in different parts of the world, I don't know what the Australian attitude would be, but I don't see a problem with using it.
    • Probably hurt him a small bit. I am pretty sure Ward didn’t throw. He probably over evaluated his skill. Which may be his entitled attitude. I agree with the pick at that point. I think he’s closer to an end of the day 2 pick than a day 1 prospect. There has been plenty of QB’s who had similar numbers that don’t thrive in the NFL. It’s easy to get a high comp% in college and put up big numbers. 1) Colorado had to score a lot to win, so they aired it out. 2) The level of competition is low.  Against FBS teams with a winning % he was 70% with 7.5 y/a. Lots of short easy stuff.  Versus Will Howard who had 75% with 9.5 y/a. That 2 y/a is huge.  Cam Ward, 67% at 10 y/a. Look at Joe Burrow, 75% at 10.2 y/a. He was unable to read defenses well enough against FBS teams with winning % to push the ball down field.  I get his o-line was bad, but Miami had an average O-line, not elite and there is a noticeable difference between the two QB’s. They should never been talked as 1A/1B.
    • That's what I'd suggest you do ,post hole-by-hole, post an "x" for the holes not played,  unless directed otherwise by a Handicap Committee with approval from your state golf association.  "Par plus.." is no longer used, unless specific instructions are given.  Note that Clarification 3.2b/2 says it should be used "only when approved by the Authorized Association".
    • I have no idea if he's any good or not. I've only ever seen him play one game. I will say he probably got bad advice going into the draft. He should have done all the "Combine Stuff" at the combine. Refusing to throw at that combine hurt.  I disagree about what his game film shows. I'm no expert, but I tried to watch as much as I could this weekend. I think it's really hard to find any game film on him that's worth a pile of beans. He's either playing really inferior competition in which case the game film is worthless. Or he's immediately running for his life the moment the ball is snapped. In which case the game film is worthless. He should have gone through the combine stuff. That was a huge mistake.  I do think it's a great pick for the Browns in the 5th round. Why not take him at that point? I think he has a chance to develop into something. Completing 75% of his passes, for 4100 yards, 37 TD's with only 10 picks behind that terrible offensive line is pretty good numbers. He may stink out loud at the next level, but being picked in the 5th round means he isn't a bust. He's just a 5th round pick that didn't work out.  If he stinks. Who cares? .... The Browns have had plenty of bad quarterbacks over the last 25 years.
    • This is how I understand it should be done, just treat those holes as not played.
