I wouldn't worry too much if a women beat me. I do worry about explaining to my wife what I'm doing on the course with another woman.

Absolutely!

In fact my current teacher is a woman and I'm having a lot better results than with either of the male pros I taken lessons from.

I play with women in our club regularly and they often put me to shame. One of our ladies plays off 9, her husband plays off 7 and the lad plays off 0-1 (it varies). something in the genes, I suspect.
While you can't always have the same banter as you do with the chaps, they're good fun while, at the same time, taking their golf seriously.

Naturally, I play with my wife - but only under sufferance: she hates it, generally. thinks I'm a bully.

Qualification about the banter: I was drawn with a certain lady for the club's Mixed Foursomes knockout, who happens to be a member of the House of Lords. So one minded one;s p's and q's very carefully. I didn't even say 'sod it', so was very well behaved. then she hit a dreadful second shot on the eighth and exploded with 'oh f*ck'.

That broke the ice nicely.

We lost in the final after an unfortunate run of bad luck. two days before we were due to play, she was hit on the head by a ball. Later in the evening, she fell over and broke her hip. Having recovered from that, she got a blood clot on her lung and nearly died. The final was postponed for a couple of months but I think our defeat could be regarded as destiny, even though I'm with Sarah Connor (no fate but what we make).
She was last seen handbagging a cyclist who was using the pavement (sidewalk).

Gosh, she's good fun.

Off the course, I play with a woman who beats me every day and I like it.

Seriously, I do.

OK, really seriously, I've played golf with women and, just like with anyone, if they have a good disposition and a good sense of humor, I've enjoyed it.

I wouldn't mind. Double points if she's 18-24, single, and attractive.

One thing though. Cannot out drive me. Period. Otherwise I'll likely walk off, go to a corner, and cry in shame.

I wouldn't mind at all. In fact, my buddies and I always comment that it would be nice to see more women play (as long as no one holds up the pace of play)! It would probably be a bonus if she were better than myself because I can use any pointers I can get.

ya, we play $5 nassau. i lose the front and the whole 18 every time, and usually the back, but not all the time. so i take five, and pay ten. we're good enough friends that she won't tell everybody how bad she beat me on the front

doesn't it help for festivities later on to lose?

You left that one wide open but I'm not even going to go there.

The only women I've ever golfed with were my Aunts and they are pretty good. It sucks to be off to the right of the green, your aunt just in front of the green and see her chip in to birdie the hole and you chip onto the green and roll 10 feet past the hole.

Two part question. I would play with a woman that could beat me. I would not like it, but I don't like it when anybody beats me. I have actually played with a single digit female at TPC Michigan. She played from the White tees and beat me by a stroke. She was very solid. She hit it straight and didn't waste too many shots. Oh yeah...She was also hot.
