I spent a considerable amount of time today testing the latest and greatest from Taylor Made as well as Titleist, Cobra and Ping and I'm nowhere near close to making a decision. I'm not sure if this is the thread to expand on my search for a new driver or if I should start a new one but I have loads of Trackman data that I'm compiling so maybe I'll summarize and share it at some point.

I've been a T.M. guy for a long, long time, going back to the original bubble shaft, but I'm really intrigued by the results I've obtained so far from this year's Titleists, especially the TSR-3. I was sure I was going to choose between just the Stealth 2 and TSR-2. But then, I tried the TSR-3 and was blown away and to complicate matters even further, a very good golfer from my course who I know fairly well (190 mph ball speed) who, coincidentally, was doing the same thing as me in the Trackman bay next to me, was nearly having an orgasm over the new Cobra Aerojet which was never even on my radar, so I tried that, as well. So now I have six, count 'em, 6 heads to deal with, each with two different lofts to consider and God knows how many shafts, so I'm in a dither at the moment. Me being overly analytical when it comes to these kinds of decisions certainly doesn't help matters but as I said in an earlier post, this is kinda fun, although my back is kind of achy after today's activity.

One thing I will say at this point, looking at the numbers I have so far, my current Taylor Made M-3 is in last place by a large margin.

    • the rules have changed, but this would fall under 11.2 in the current rules.  General Penalty to any player who deliberately deflects a ball in motion, and you must replay the putt.
    • Day 250 4-29 Getting chest through with speed on downswing and wrist arch. Also worked on some moving the pelvis slightly away in the backswing. Feel like im going too fast and long, looks like it on the recordings too.
    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
