Joel Dahmen was a part of one of the wildest made-cut stories you’ll hear. His caddie, Geno Bonnalie, told it...

Shows just how damn good these guys are. JD seems like quite the character as well.

I can see this happening. My older brother Mike did something similar. During his freshman year at college, he turned 18. So his friends took him out for some celebration. My brother was not a drinker. They consumed a fifth of Jamison’s until the wee hours. The next morning at 8 AM he had a P-Chem test with a legendary professor who rarely gave perfect scores. I had the same prof and he was tough but fair. Mike got the only 100 on the test, the class average was 60. He was still drunk.

And he went on to work for Exxon? 😁

These stories are generally the exception rather than the rule.  I have a distant cousin who is a pro golfer.  He played on the Indian and Asian tour a couple of times.  Loved hitting the bottle unfortunately.

One tournament, end of day 3 he was either first or second.  His caddie begs him to get to bed early and not drink.  Tells him you win tomorrow and can drink as much as you want.  Sure enough he goes on a bender that night and wakes up half drunk and completely hungover on Sunday.  The tournament goes for a toss with him dropping down the leaderboard.  Can't remember if he just managed to scrape into the top 10 thanks to his previous 3 days exploits.

Nah. A bunch of engineering companies. He’s retired now and really doesn’t drink much!
