Jordan is one of my favorite players.   I root for him the most.

I was watching him swing in today's RBC, and noticed his swing looked different.

Upon more, it appears that his practice swings have a little hand motion at transition;

kind of a "over the top" ???   handsy motion...

However his actual swing doesn't seem to include it.

I recall some over players may do the same... e.g. Matt Kuchar ???

Anyhow, just wondering if others notice this, or if I am imagining....

Secondly, if so, what is the purpose?

I know some people want to incorporate a swing feel;

even though it may not actually occur in the process of hitting the ball.

He definitely does it.

Its a feel drill that helps cue him to be on plane and not too steep during the actual swing.

I think you answered your own question here. The purpose of a practice swing is to get a feel for the swing you’re about to make.

Can’t tell if he’s doing it with arms or body or both, the steepening move. Looks like more arms with practice swing.
