Hi All! I am a long time lurker of the forum who finally decided to register and start participating in golf discussion.

I’m eager to improve, currently taking lessons at GOLFTEC, and have reduced my handicap from ~18 to 10.9 over the last 5 years in a self-taught manner.

Broke 80 twice last season which was a big confidence boost. I am hoping to bring my 20-round rolling average differential down from ~14 to ~11 by the end of this season. I focus more on average differential than handicap as I prefer a flatter distribution of my scores, it allows me to enjoy golf much more.

Bought and read LSW last season which was very helpful from a strategy perspective. Primarily working on technical improvement to full swings with my instructor, distance control on chips/pitches, and lag putting.

    • Day 23 - Back to full swing work, trying to swing loose and feel the club head.
    • Yet here we are. I don’t disagree that we should expect spectators to behave on any event, not just The Masters, but that’s not the case. There’s a sea of phones out there on any other event and a lot more incidents with spectators. Why shouldn’t we praise decent behaviour when it is often lacking in these days? There are plenty of golf related events to write negative articles about. I like when there is positivity to write about instead. Not that I expect them to behave at any other event like they do at Augusta just because it gets praise, but it’s nice to see positive spin on things. There are more than enough articles about rowdy spectators and cheating players. I think you nailed it in the first line: “grumpy old man”. 😉
    • Day 275: mirror work for a bit while watching TV. Working on cleaning up a few things in my lower body stuff.
    • Yeah, I take your point. Perhaps you've just identified the other side of the same coin: maybe there is very little to celebrate about pro golfers as people, so the golf media are clutching at straws trying to find something.
    • Go ahead and name three things that, in the world of golf, have been more praise-worthy in the last three months. I'll wait. It's not like they got Congressional medals or something.
