Anyone Play any of the Disney Courses

going to be going to Disney soon with my Family and my Wives Friend and her Family. In our package we have the chance to play 1 of the Disney Courses which are:

Osprey Ridge
Lake Buena Vista
Palm
Magnolia
Oak Trail (9 hole course)


my question is, has anyone played any or all of these before and if so which 1 is the nicest? I'm leaning toward Osprey Ridge by the pictures and Virtual Tour....

I haven't, but I have heard they are nice. Though not too hard..... Someone else probably knows better, just wanted to bump this for you.

I've played all of them. They are nice but not cheap in the mornings. However, Disney has some great twilight rates so I usually go to the theme parks with the family in the morning and after lunch the family takes a break the dads play some golf. The courses are always in fantastic condition and the service is second to none.

Osprey Ridge is the nicest and most challenging of the Disney courses. It is more secluded than the others and has the feel of a Carolina style course. Disney recently closed its sister course (Eagle Pines) and I understand Osprey will be closing next year and they will rebuild the two of them as a single new course as part of a very upscale Four Seasons resort. You should play Osprey while you can.

The Palm and Magnolia share a club house and are the host venues for the annual PGA tour event. I prefer Magnolia but they are fairly comparable.

Lake Buena Vista is under rated IMO. I think some people give it lower marks because it has condos visible from a number of the holes. I really enjoyed it. it is a fun round, not as testing as Osprey. It is located near Downtown Diseny so if you are staying at that end of the park it is very convenient.

If you are staying at any of the onsite Disney hotels they will provide you with free cab service to and from any of their courses. Just ask the concierge or the front desk.

I played the one that has a sand trap in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head. Don't remember much else, but I had fun, it was vacation. Included a lesson.

May 21 and 25, I'll be playing LBV. We're staying at the Saratoga Springs resort which is right at the course. I figure none of them can be bad.

The hole with the Mickey Mouse shaped bunker is #6 at the Magnolia course (a par 3).

You will like the LBV course. If you look at the photos I posted the link to you will see the Saratoga condos on some of the holes. Very Nice!

Never played those courses. But, I've played the Hyatt Grand Cypress courses nearby which are awesome. Nicklaus design, three conventional 9 hole tracks. Also, they have the "New Course" which is a replica of the Old Course at St. Andrews.

Disney is first class and I think you'll have a blast. One of my teachers used to work for them and was a good golfer and loves those courses.

I've played a bunch of them, but only the Palm and Lake Beuna Vista recently. I have enjoyed all the ones I played. I think the Palm and Magnolia are the two best, but I was pleasantly surprised by Lake Beuna Vista. For some reason I felt very removed from reality at Lake Beuna Vista. It had a very surreal setting, the tree house lane, the boats riding along the rivers as you're hitting, I really felt like I was on some fantasy course and not your regular golf course.

If you're looking for a cheap round in that area, Orange County National is just west of Disney and is pretty affordable. First round will be $70, but a $30 replay after 3 pm. Crooked Cat and Panther Lake are where they held the finals for Q-School, and their range is the largest in the US. Certainly not Disney in the amenity sense, but still a great golf experience.

Very good question as on the way to Orlando myself in June. I gather the Osprey Lodge course is supposed to be very good indeed but Imagine it will be evry busy.

You or anyone else not going to Orlando during the 31st May to 14th June 08 as Im out there and be great to find some other to play golf with as my wife cant think of anything worse to do than sit in a buggy watching me hit a ball!!!

I played the Magnolia years ago, but I'm sure you will enjoy any of them... they should all be in reallyt good shape.

My wife and I went to Disney for our honeymoon. Unfortunately it was right after I had just started playing again after college. I was not completely hooked like I am now and my wife did not play at all at the time. I do remember the courses were in pristine condition and that I wished i had my clubs with me.
