How so? Asking someone what their point is hardly seems argumentative IMO.

You asked for peoples thoughts on club bending machines, I pointed out the fact that most golfers have no business owning a machine like this and then I asked you an additional question which you ignored.

@NHpro Do you honestly think it's a good idea for players who know very little about lofts, lies, bounce, etc to be owning a machine like this and manipulating their own clubs?

Especially considering that the majority of golfers don't own or utilize a launch monitor?

Are you trying to convince people that the average golfer needs to go out and buy a club bending machine?

That’s your point?

I doubt it, and even if he was… it’s a discussion forum. He’s allowed and even encouraged to discuss.

I'm sorry. I'm glad you're happy but to me this seems like a silly idea.

I can see tweaking a club a degree or maybe two to improve your gapping where need be. My 5 iron and 6 iron are both tweaked a degree weaker than standard.
But if you bend all the clubs that far all you are doing is turning your 6 iron into a 5 iron and the 5 iron into a 4 iron etc...

Why not just hit your 5 iron instead of your 6 iron?

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

I completely agree, I have a set of Eye 2 and I play them at the lofts they were designed with. Doesn't make sense to strengthen a 7-iron into a 6-iron when you already have a 6-iron.

There are a few other threads on TST similar to this one with same OP, I think there is "Club Bending", "New Life for Old Clubs", and this one.

I have an old set of PING ISI's.

I wish they were the beryllium copper ones, but they aren't. I still think they're cool though. I got them back in 1996. They were my first set of "expensive irons". I was even fit for them. Before that I played Knight Centauri's. I bet you never heard of those. 👍😁👍

@klineka asked you what your point is, because you started off seemingly suggesting people get their own loft/lie machines, and then later agreed that you have to know what you're doing to use one.

So, buddy, stop.

P.S. I have my own loft/lie/bending machine and know how to use it. It's not something 99% of golfers need to worry about.

    • 39, +4. A bit better hip slide stuff. More lateral, less turn with the hips.
    • Day 11: Worked on putting with the metronome
    • I added to total today by hopping it in on the first hole for an eagle. A short par 4, I hit 4 wood to 110. With a little breeze in my face I hit a 50 degree gap wedge to 2 feet and watched it hop into the hole for an eagle 2!
    • Sounds good. Text me if you have any questions. You have a good setup, too, and so long as you can get good camera angles… you should be good. https://skillest.com/@iacas
    • Day 14 (September 18).  Morning practice, despite questionable weather (it's raining).   Worked on chipping at first, including run-ups with UW and PW;  I've noticed lately some of my near-GIRs are missing forward, with nothing but grass ahead of me, but 20-30 yards to the pin.  After a few misadventures putting those lately, I wanted to at least get a feeling for what a 30-yard chip shot that doesn't have the variance of my quarter lob wedge would feel like.  I still think "putt when you can putt" is right, but... I am less sure I have a 30 yard putt in me.  Range time also, of course, same routine as the past week or so (drill, 3-4 slow shots, etc).   Did not get to the putting green as it was starting to come down a bit more. Darn, it really is raining.  And I thought today would be a perfect day to play, seeing as how it's 9-18 and all.
