Question, how many degrees of lie angle being off, does it really start to take effect? Here is my situation. I play Wilson Staff D9 irons, regular length/ lie. Regular flex shafts. Do not have any issues, I'm happy with the results. However, I am wanting a set of Pings. I did the webfit thing they offer and it tells me I need green dots, (2 degree upright) standard length and stiff shafts. Their black dots have the same lie angle and length as my Wilsons.  They base, I assume, stiff flex because I hit my 7 iron 160 yards?  That doesn't make sense. Anyways, I will get my instructor to do a good fitting for Pings in a week or so, but in the meantime, Is 2 deg that noticeable?

One thing to keep in mind is that there really isn't any standard for shaft flex across brands. Stiff for one brand of shaft might be the same as regular for another brand.

I get that, my shafts are KBS Tour Lite 95g. Ping offers a hand full of choices of course, their stock shaft (AWT 2.0) regular flex is 98g. I don't think 3 grams would make a difference. Lie angle is my area of concern. Their standard, black dot, is the same lie angle as my Wilsons. As mentioned above they say 2 deg upright. That's my only concern. I guess the club fitter will school me. If you stand closer or further away from the ball, in essence, does that change the lie angle slightly?
