My Ping driver has a weight option on the outer portion of the driver to produce more of a draw.  However, I cant find any instructions on how to adjust this.  I see there are weight kits that you can buy out there with various amounts of weight to add.  Can the original weight be adjusted at all or do you have to buy replacement weights to experiment with what weight works best for you?

Thank you for your help!

Not being snarky but you can Google the instructions to your driver adjustments…..

Ping drivers with weight ports come in two basic varieties. They are fixed weights and movable weights.

Fixed weight drivers look like this PING G SFT driver here: ping-g30-sf-tec-driver.thumb.jpg.a74b484b888b6d777ed0b624ceef10a2.jpg

The only weigh to change that weight is to literally unscrew it and screw in a heavier or lighter weight. Which you will have to buy separately.

The sliding weight variety will allow you to position the rear weight in a couple of different positions. Here's a picture of the PING G430:PING-G430-MAX-Driver_4383.jpg.94617cbe42b258dfbb24b1dc455c59f3.jpgFor this style, you simply unscrew the tungsten weight move it toward the hosel to promote a draw. Move it toward the toe to promote a fade.

As far as I know, most drivers use a T20 torx bit. Or you can buy a specialized wrench (possibly your driver came with one.) I've been told that some drivers use a T15 torx bit and some use a T25, but I haven't actually experienced that.

Pro tip: A lot of golfers get more help out of adjusting their driver more upright to promote a draw and flatter to promote a fade. That often helps more than repositioning the rear weight.  Those adjustments are made by adjusting the hosel. (About 80% of all newer drivers come with adjustable hosels these days.

Lastly, remember adjusting your driver will only help you a bit. Don't expect to turn a banana slice into a dead straight bomb off the tee. It's designed to help you, not cure you.

Thank you. Just what I was looking for.

I tried googling it, checked on YouTube and searched for the instruction manual but the only thing I could find was the club face angle adjustments

He doesn't seem to want to answer the question.

Has to be the 410, 425 or 430. Which other Ping drivers have that weight system?

I have a Ping G400 SFT driver.  Sorry, didnt answer this because I received a comprehensive response above that applied to adjustable and fixed weighted drivers.  So my driver has a fixed option so I would have to purchase a weight kit.  Thanks

    • I had a few tweeks in the bag. I took out my Mizuno pro FliHi 3 iron replaced it with a Titleist GT2 7 Wood. what a change that is, so easy to hit, it goes so high without it ballooning on me. I couldn't get rid of my callaway woods ( Rogue ST Max LS ) but changed the shafts to Diamana BB 63 stiff for the driver and 73 stiff for the 3 wood. Than i got myself a new putter Odyssey S2S jailbird yes i joined the centershaft family
    • First off all i think you should use the same ball all the time. We all strive for consistency on the course, the only factor you can be sure it will be always the same is your ball if you always use the same. So i think we should always use the same. I recently switched from Titleist Pro V1x to Srixon Z-Star Diamond because it i get a bit softer feel around the greens and same results on driver and irons
