i use a 60 and a PW, and just realized I have room for 1 more club!

you've been golfing awhile and you have over 1300 posts on this site... but you JUST realized you only have 13 clubs. You ARE joking right?

You probably have quite a distance gap there too... I'm not sure how I could live without a GW or SW.
My Clubs: Callaway FT-i Tour LCG 9.5° w/ Matrix Ozik Xcon 6 stiff; Sonartec GS Tour 14° w/ Graphite Design Red Ice 70 stiff; Adams Idea Pro 2h(18°) & 3h(20°) w/ Aldila VS Proto 80 stiff; Adams Idea Pro Forged 4-PW w/ TT Black Gold stiff; Cleveland CG12 DSG RTG 52°-10° & 58°-10°; Odyssey...

I use the Cobra FP Wedges, the PW, GW, SW, LW. Lofts are as follows;
PW- 45°
GW- 50°
SW- 55°
LW- 60°

Thinking about taking my fathers Cleveland 588 Lob Wedge and Sand Wedge, but I personally prefer my wedges from what I've noticed so far.

I use a 48* PW, 52.13 GW, and 58.12 LW

I use the PW from about 110
the GW from about 100
and the LW from about 75

Now those are full swing

I use all of the clubs from chips ad such, depending on the green and other factors, and the same is true for pitches and such, it all depends on the situation. So I use them all for just about every shot that I need around the greens depending on the situation.

Here's what I play:

GW - 50*

also I just bought a LW 60* Mizuno MP-T (5 bounce). I think I will throw it in the bag for short courses so I have more options from 100 yards and in.

I just bought a 54.14 Vokey Oil Can Spin Milled, and took it out to the putting green. So far I have to say I'm not impressed, I'm trying to get more serious about golf this year and was wondering if I should be using a higher loft club for aroun the green (20 yards out to green side chipping) I want to be able to hop, check it. (I know that comes with practice) But what wedge should I start using? Also I'm not the greatest at spinning it to begin with, but what club would help me out the most if I were to start practicing.

If I should go to 56 or 60, how far can they bend a wedge? I've never had this done.

I use my PW 44 from 120-100 , my AW 49 for bump & Run and 90-70, my GW 52 from 70 on in and my 56 for flops only...I also have a SW I call "the masher" I use in traps...My AW has made it's way to my son's bag for now, but he'll be returning it soon and the 52 & 56 will rotate through....

So what club do you use for general chipping (not flopping) but just moderate trajectory to get it to hop once or twice and then stick?

Is 54 to low should I get a 60 or 56/58 for that?

I use a 54* 60* combo. I used to use my 60* all the time but now I'm starting to bump and run a bit more and it really gives you a shot at making it. Unlike a Lob wedge. It a bit difficult at first, so I transitioned slowly by starting by using a 9 iron so I still had loft, now I either use a 6 or 7. But anyway, I wanna switch my wedges to 52 56 60.

I've been a bump and run player using just a PW and SW, but in response to a recent golf vacation where I played courses I hope to play many more times, where flop shots, 80-95yd shots, and need to spin the ball was very important, I just got a 62.9 X-Tour MD grooves and a X-20 55.12 SW and added a RAC TP 52.8 AW.

I really believe the wedge set up depends on the courses you play. I've gone a long time with no lob or gap wedge with no trouble.

    • Day 24: did a stack session. Worked a bit on downswing feels during breaks.
    • Day 444 - 2025-12-18 Light day of hotel room work. GEARS Summit v2.0 today. Good day.
    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
