Anyone tried Public Rec apparel on or off the golf course?

I haven't either. But there doesn't seem to be any reason why at least the pants would create any issues.

Nope, and a bit too expensive for what I usually spend on clothing. Not sure if these pants are the kind where they are like business casual but also can be worn while doing athletic stuff (like working out). 

I do own a pair of pants from VRST, and like them a lot. They got a business casual look, but very stretchy. I forgot my gym shorts to volleyball on Monday. I had these pants on and had no issues. You can literally go from work to the gym. .

My home course, a semi-private, has a sign in the pro shop area saying that athletic workout attire is not permitted on the actual golf course. Also, collared shirts are required.

But, I was unable to find similar athletic-attire language in the course web site.

As far as enforcement: I would be hard pressed to tell difference between golf rain gear and lined workout pants and a warm-up top. Personally, use my wind shirt both for golf and for cold gyms.
