Good leaderboard. Still pulling for Rory, but he’s been shaky.

All of these missed fairways and the miraculous escapes followed by the seemingly reliable miracles suddenly stopping reminds me of another former Masters champion whose luck ran out on the 72nd hole of a major twenty years ago.

You know, I haven't followed much professional golf the past few years, and he wasn't the star of today's show, but I think I like this Sam Burns fellow.  I hope he plays well tomorrow.

It was also set at B1 at a previous event, and… so there's dubiousness around whether he's telling the truth (again).

Yes.  Did he not hit the range before the round?

When my first few pre-round drives aren't what I expect, the first thing I check is my driver settings, in case they changed.  I am on my second adjustable driver and I am still not trusting that golf gremlins don't change it between rounds.

The second thing I check is my alignment and setup, and that is far more often the culprit than my settings.

In any case, there are some simple things that I imagine should be on a professional player's pre-round checklist that I am surprised when they aren't.  One of those is the settings for any adjustable clubs.

There's a story that Langer was once reminded during a practice round that the Masters is an invitational tournament -- and that includes for past champions.  The implication was that if he continued slow play, he might not get into a future Masters.  I am hoping Sergio can be reminded similarly. 

Sergio doing that is, sadly, not surprising.  It's less of a surprise than that Rory is now 1/1 on fairways hit.

Would he be the first winner of the Masters to be banned from Augusta! 

Also, come on Sergio, you are a 46 year old over the hill golfer. Go get your Saudi paycheck and chill. You are not that good anymore to get that upset. Go enjoy your "retirement" in LIV.

I was watching a Tiger highlight reel earlier today;  all his eagles at the Masters (all were at par-5s, except one at #14).

That and this got me to thinking, what would a Sergio Garcia career highlight reel consist of?  Destroyed tee boxes, damaged tee markers, yelling at rules officials, and spitting in at least one cup.

I didn't see Sam Burns's second through fourth shots at #2.  How did he end up off the green for his fifth?

How many times does Cameron Young get his big misses to kick out into the fairway this week?

Burns at #2:  his second was a penalty (unplayable), punched out, missed his fourth long.  

(I asked earlier and now I know, so I'm posting in case anyone else had the question)
