I finally was able to record my swing, but the video quality and the lighting (at night) isn't great.

I'm trying to make my swing more upright, my swing has been even flatter than in these videos aswell. My ball flight in these videos are little fades (which I hate), where they fade off at the end. I usually( and prefer) draw the ball slightly.

EDIT- http://www.swingacademy.com/searchresults.aspx

Any help is appreciated.

The link doesn't work, but if you type "trevor07" in the search box under "users" it brings them up.

I'm not the authority on golf swings by any means (though i can easier spot a problem in someone else's swing than my own), but you have almost NO wrist hinge at all.
If you play the 6iron vid in slow mo, once your arms get back to parallel with the ground on your backswing, the club is still pointing straight back behind you. Once you get the clubhead a couple feet away from the ball you should start hinging the wrists upward. By the time your arms are parallel to the ground on the backswing the club should be pointing up 90º to your arms.
You'd get a bit more power and I would think that would make it a little more "upright".

Other than that (in my mind anyway) you actually have a very pretty swing.

I'm probably not the one to be giving advice on this (as I am fighting a flat swing myself...or maybe that means that I am?) but one thing that has helped me and looks like could help you is the towel drill. It looks like if you could concentrate on keeping your left elbow/arm in toward your body, it would help you to get your swing more steep. I've just recently started concentrating on this and it has helped me a ton!

Nice swing overall though!

I was taking a look and I dont know if its the angle, but on your driver swing it looks like you have your back foot pointed outwards away from the target. This could cause a slight fade in your swing, or maybe if its pointed out enough a major fade.

I fixed the link I believe.

In atleast on of those swings, you can see I'm doing the glove in the left armpit drill (it falls out in one of my follow throughs. I also noticed in those videos that I don't really have any wrist hinge. Now that pinseeker has mentioned it too, it seems like wrist hinge would make my swing more upright, because when I'm in the takeaway and the club is parrallel to the ground, If I would just hinge up, that would seem like the club would come over my right shoulder, which is a good position to be in right?

Give this tip/drill a shot. I used to have little wrist hinge as well, but this helped (along with other things) for me, hopefully will help you out as well.

Well, in the humble opinion of a 13.9 handicap, I don't think your swing is really THAT flat. Maybe it was really flat at one point but you have fixed it a little. It looks to be on plane which is an important factor.

Sure, it looks as though you could use a little more hinge, but be careful, from my own experience trying to force excessive wrist hinge causes my swing to be very upright. This causes a very steep angle of attack and poor shots (for me anyway). Maybe try just a little more wrist hinge at address and then take your normal swing I really like how you "fan" the club wide open of your backswing, something Tiger has said he has been working on. How did those shots turn out, do you remember? Are you hitting them crisp?

Thanks for that link. AS's swing is just butter....even when he's doing a drill!

Actually...it probably would go further for me, because I'd be making much better, more crisp contact.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.

    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
