It's time to replace my old stand bag. The thing weighs about ten pounds empty and the full length dividers are shot. Added to that is that it is a severe oval shape and doesn't fit in golf carts or push carts worth a flip.

I've seen a couple of stand bags in the stores that I liked...but couldn't tell whether they will stand upright with clubs in them.

I just wanted to ensure that the bag will stand upright in a cart or push cart without the legs deploying. It's hard to tell without the weight of my clubs in it to tell.

Looking at offerings by Callaway and Ping that really seemed light but had the storage and club seppartation that I want.

I'd go for one of the new style "cart" bags, but I really find the legs to be handy at times. Also some of the "cart" bags that I've looked at didn't have a shoulder strap that spanned the length of the bag, just the top part and wouldn't balance well over your shoulder.

What are you guys using that you'd recomend for everything: riding, walking, good storage room, etc.

I have the Callaway Warbird Hot and I really like it. It can stand on its own without the legs deploying. Very comfortable to walk with. Good pockets.
Love the magnetic ball pocket, the insulated beverage holder, divider system, and the seperate putter slot.

The only thing I wish it had was another "misc" pocket up on top of the bag. All of the smaller pockets are on the bottom. That would be my only gripe with it.

I really like that bag!!!!

The putter well is a huge plus. I'm thinking this may be the one.

How many drinks or bottles will fit in the insulated pocket?

I use a Nike Sasquatch Tour. It will stand on its own without legs deploying, has 14 full-length dividers and plenty of other storage. I think it weighs about 7 pounds or so empty.

I also have the Callaway Warbird Hot, and I will tell you it is a great bag, and you can't really go wrong with it. I also agree with everything stated by Wisco-kid.

There are a handful of combo bags that are for both walking and riding. I am in a similar boat, and I was looking at Titleist SH85, but it has 14 dividers, which I don't want. My current considerations are the Mizuno GTX and the Sun Mountain MPB. Check those out, I bet they cover what you're looking for.

I use an ogio stand bag and im pretty happy with it. They are nifty designs with tons of divider option to set up the clubs the way you want. The woode system is very useful and floor on under the iron dividers are slanted so your long to short clubs fit nicley while the bag is standing. My only gripe with it is that the legs dont deploy as easily as you might want when you put the bag on the ground. But its a minor issue.

Most of the stand bags that I have seen recently will have a velcro strap or some sort of clip to hold the legs against the bag if you don't want them to come out. I have not come across a stand bag that would stand on its own without the legs, especially with a full set of gear in it, but they have no problems standing attached to a cart or pull cart.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I have this one:

I love it to death. Its superlight (as per the name), very sturdy and the stand legs are probably the most durable I've come across. I highly recommend it!

    • Day 82: mirror work again tonight. Working on the same shoulder down and roll and twist stuff. Going on vacation tomorrow and putting the clubs down, so new streak starts in about 10 days!
    • Day 44, June 17.  Today was some preliminary stretching, exploring what I'll want to set up as a regular routine (both while on vacation without clubs and when I'm back) (aside: this is part of an upcoming goal to stretch daily in a meaningful way, but I don't plan to count it as practice on days that I can meaningfully practice with a club)
    • Having a rough week. Went to the Dr. because I was really weak and could hardly swing my driver.  I take Propranolol 20 mg tablets twice a day. Seems like the Propranolol was driving my pulse down (low 50's).  So we cut the dosage in half and I started taking my blood pressure. It was a little high but pulse came up.   Then yesterday I raised it to 15 mg tab by taking it 3 times a day. Blood pressure 127 / 77 Pulse 75.  Heading out tomorrow morning for 18 holes.    I have my driver set at 10.5* but seem to have my swing speed to low and I can't get the lift on the ball I need.  I have not played this week in hopes I will have the strength to raise my swing speed. I may have to raise my loft to 12* . (I will take my driver wrench) tomorrow. (This Parkinson's is a pain in the butt.)  Will give you a report when I get back.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • You still got to lift your arms. You basically just roll your wrist over in the 1st half of the backswing.
