I currently have the 57's and are by far the best club I've ever hit. A good amount of playabilty and forgiveness. Last year I had 67's and I'm simply not good enought for those.

I demoed both, and I loved the -57s much more. Maybe it's because they're a bit more forgiving?

The 57 is the first full cavity back that Mizuno has made in the MP series. The 60 has a tiny cavity back and is made of a different steel. It allows for much more playability.

If you're someone who works the ball, go with the 60. Otherwise, the 57 is for you.

what about fell wise ive heard the 60's are better feeling than the 57's did you notice any difference

My observation at demo days is that the 60s stung worse on bad shots than the 57s did. Whether that's better in the feel department is dependent on what feel you're looking for.

the mp 60's seem similar to mp 67 just a little more forgiving and the mp 57's are a lot more forgiving i am considering both but i am still growing so i wont need clubs for a couple years and i hope to be shooting 70's when im 14-15 so thats probaly when id buy new clubs

question for ya...are you shopping for a new set of clubs or just being curious to what others think? if you are shopping for a new set i hope you have at least narrowed it down to these two clubs. i personally would NEVER go buy a set of clubs just because somebody says they are the best THEY have ever hit. just trying to give some sound advice as i just went through the whole process of getting a new set of irons the last two months or so

my advice in that case would be to hit every single club you can (the clubs that match your playing ability), and preferably close to your fit (length, lie, etc)

i love my 60's and i'm not below a 10. I got them last year after about 4 months of playing golf. it really forced me to make a good swing everytime..and it gives you feedback when you hit a bad shot as to where you hit it..and then i can take that and correct it the next time....plus it's just sexy

the mp's are the players series of mizuno which they claim is supposed to be for the better strokers out there.... i say whichever's more comfortable when you swing and at impact. the 57's are a great club. forgiving and don't penalize you as much when you hit it chunky, toe it or hit it off center. i mean, look at the 3 iron of the 60's. that's like no room for error to hit....
but they both feel great...i just like the thinner profile of the 60's..even though there's not a huge difference.

I use project X flighted shafts on my mp-60's. you can find mp60's for $749 and even 699 brand new online. My friend is selling his..used for a season for $600 + shipping if you're interested. Email me:

MP57's run about the same.

Project X shafts are about $220 for all the shafts.
BUT you can order them for about $100 more witih the project x shafts installed already.

mp-57's if you're a mid player, and if you are a low handicap consider the 60-67's. If I were you I'd go try out every iron you can think of and decide from there. Only you can decide what feels good, not other people.

that's exactly what I did last year. I spent 4 hours at the range hitting full shots with the 5 & 7 irons. I think the pro shop manager was getting PISSED

      Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.

      As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
