I love the grips on Taylormade's clubs. For lack of a better description, they feel like tapered rubber. I guess they have a guide in the back, to assist with the player's grip (muscle memory, etc.). I'm thinking about replacing the grips on my clubs with these grips. Has anyone tried this?

The only thing is, I haven't hit a ball with one of their clubs, so I may not like them on the course. Anyone who plays TM's with these grips have an opinion on them?

Thanks,

Rob

I use a lot of Taylormade clubs and I find their grips to be very mediocre. I like the feel of of Tour Wrap Cords much better. I don't really need the aid, and the grip is not as sticky as other grips.

I hate the grip on my Superquad, and am looking forward to replacing it - there is just something not right with it IMHO.

Will either be sticking on a GP Tour Velvet (same as irons) or multi-compound in the next week or 2. Which ever one I go with, it will go on the 3 & 5 woods at the same time also

I can't stand anything that is Tour Velvet... they just dont hold up. Cords really chew my hands up but they are an amazing grip performance wise.

I played with a japanese woman last summer who brought home a club when she went home to visit family... anyways, I guess she won a callway hybrid and the club had an Iomic grip... holy **** these are amazing. They are so tacky its unreal... only downside, the price

I believe they are close to 150 for a set of 13

edit: just went back to their site to verify the price, 187 for 13... yup, probably not going to happen.

I played with the Taylormade grips on my 3 Burners (see signature) when I originally purchased them and liked the grips very much...however, I have changed the shafts in all three clubs (see signature) and went with the Golf Pride Tour Velvet because Edwin Watts did not have the Taylormade grips in stock and I did not want to wait...but they worked fine for me...hope this helps...

Cool...thanks for the input. I'm going to have my 8-iron re-gripped just to see how it performs. Pretty good reviews here: http://www.golfsmith.com/products/18723

I started playing with a set of hogans that had reminder cords running along the bottom, so I guess I'm somewhat accustomed to the feel...hence the affinity for the TM's

Thanks

    • Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.
    • Day 143 1-2 Arch wrist in downswing. Having a SLIGHT cup in the lead wrist at the top now. Only paused swings with some rehearsals before swinging at ball.  Used foam ball.
    • Day 459 - 2026-01-02 Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways: A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s) Less pelvis turn (low 50s).
    • Day 31 (2 Jan 26) - Usual Friday men’s group shootout - good day of shot making  as most shots were right on line to the target point.  Putter and green reads were solid with some great par saves and a really tricky birdie.
    • Day 13 - 2026-01-02 One hour short game work. Chipping balls to different targets, compass putting drill with 2-3% slope.
