I'm headed down tomorrow. Went last year, really a great experience to be able to go to a professional tournament and not be overrun with absurd masses of people (went to the PGA at Baltusrol, it was barely enjoyable). So many unbelievably technically sound, fluid swings to see, I'm excited. And my wife is actually excited to go, too!

(unfortunately, doesn't look like Anna Rawson will make the cut...) ;)

Nothing in the swing is done at the expense of balance.

Yeah, the lack of crowds is a real draw to me for LPGA events. I was bummed that I couldn't check them out when they were in Palm Springs...

I had a paper due a few days after the tournament, or I would've been there. I share your lament.

And it was one of their majors, wasn't it? Anyway, yeah, I enjoyed going to the NWT event I went to, since it seemed to be me, the players' groupies, and the players' families. I suspect going to an LPGA event would be great for the same reason.

I'll be going to Sylvania (OH) this summer for Jamie Farr's event. Crowds are small and easily manageable for sure.

Yani Tseng won the championship in a playoff! Taiwan in da house!

Not bad for a 19 yr. old winning her first LPGA event...

Not to mention Lorena and Annika one shot back!

One other reason to love watching the LPGA: My body more resembles theirs (in overall height/weight/muscle; no "Mike is a woman" jokes please) and yet they're able to post scores in the 60s. It means to me that my body won't hold me back from those scores indefinitely

Me too. I have tix for each day of real play and a DVR at home so I can attend and watch the coverage as well - best of both worlds. I use to go when they had a regular stop. My daughter was < 10 yrs old and we sat after the 12th hole, leaning against a tree right next to the green. I had read that pros use a ball for only about 6 holes, so they might give us one. We got a couple including Dottie Pepper, who is now doing the telecasts. Her mark on the ball was a big Dot and a T following. My daughter did never take up golf but she treasures this golf ball still (she will be a senior in college).
