There may be a lot of reasons and I'm not talking competition. What do you, or people you've seen, do? C'mon fess up, or just tell us about the friend of a friend :). The stuff that the perpetrator thinks is fair or believes is the rule.

We take a single for a lost ball to expidite play, otherwise we're by the book as we know it, although my partner destroyed a bush in his way last year until I reprimanded him for it. He's good now.

I had a "stated" hcp'er of 7 move the ball from an inconvenient tree (just paired up, didn't know him). I could be a 7 with that concession.

What about hcp? Other than a true calculation, how do you figure it? I calculated it online last year and it was generous. My calculation is the center of my scores. I swing between 88 and 100, thus my 22. I've been staying closser to the lower end for awhile so I might allow myself a point or so soon.

You're new, so you've probably not heard me or others say this to you. Please listen: rather than start new topics, please find existing threads. This very topic has been discussed several times.

You calculate your handicap incorrectly. Look up the proper way to do it. It's not difficult.

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
    • Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
